Ed Yeates, 68, of Yellville, Arkansas passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

Ed was born August 10, 1956 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Ed grew up in Natchitoches, Louisiana, where he met and married Betha Reed and eventually became head of the city's Water Department. In 1996, Ed and Betha moved to the Ozarks to be surrounded by Betha's loving family and raise their son, Hunter. Ed was a Christian with a kind soul who loved people, animals and conversation, often visiting with people in line and offering help to others, particularly children and the elderly. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his son, Hunter and daughter-in-law, Shylah; granddaughter, Oaklynn of Flippin, Arkansas; brother, Glenn Thames of Tyler, Texas and numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betha; his father, Edwin C. Yeates, Jr. who died when Ed was 3 years old; mother, Barbara T. Yeates Thames; stepfather, Earl Thames and his brother, Bill Yeates.

A Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, March 24, 2025 at Roller-Burns Funeral Home in Yellville, Arkansas. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to service time. Interment to follow at Georges Creek Cemetery in Yellville, Arkansas.
