of Conway, AR

November 23, 1944 - March 15, 2025

In Loving Memory of Patricia Kathryn Starr. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kathryn, a beloved mother, Meme, daughter, sister, friend and teacher, who left this world on March 15, 2025 at the age of 80. She was surrounded by love, just as she had surrounded others with love throughout her life.

Kathryn was born on November 23, 1944 in Oxford, AR, Kathryn grew up with a passion for teaching and a heart full of kindness. She graduated from UCA with a master's degree in Home Economics. She was an active member in Delta Kappa Gamma and University Church of Christ. She dedicated her life to education, inspiring countless students with her wisdom, patience and unwavering belief in their potential. As a teacher, she was more than an instructor, she was a mentor, a guide and a source of encouragement.

Above all, Kathryn was devoted to her family. She was a loving mother who provided warmth, guidance and unconditional love to her children. As a Meme, she delighted in sharing stories, laughter and gentle wisdom with the next generation. She was a cherished daughter and sister, always putting family first and ensuring those around her felt supported and cared for. Her friends will remember her as a loyal confidante, someone who could brighten any room with her smile and uplift hearts with her compassion. She had a gift for making everyone feel special and valued. Though she is no longer with us, her legacy lives on in the lives she touched. Her love, kindness and dedication to others will never be forgotten.

Kathryn is survived by her sisters, Paulette Dockins and Lana Blankenship; sons, Steve Starr (Jennifer) and Scott Starr (Katie); grandchildren, Leighana Starr (Ryan), Tyler Starr, Blake Starr; countless nieces and nephews, countless students, colleagues and friends who were blessed to have known her.

A celebration of her life will be held with a visitation on Thursday, March 20, 2025 from 6-8:00pm and a service on Friday, March 21, 2025 at 11:00am at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Conway.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Renewal Ranch in honor of her passion for helping others. She will be deeply missed, but her love will remain in our hearts forever.

Mrs. Starr as I knew her... I met her our 1st year we moved here. She was one of my son’s 1st teachers teaching him Science. Then she became a Home Economics Teacher there & that is how we became colleagues teaching the same career area. I always admired her positive attitude and patience she had. She was so concerned about others & always had a good story to tell. I will miss running into her around town & sharing things that had happened since our retirement!!. She was truely a Beautiful Special Lady!!
Prayers & Love go out to her Family she leaves behind.

Mrs Starr was a big part of my elementary years- she helped with our class parties and subbed in our class. Later, she saw me in college, reminisced our times, and asked about my future as a teacher! She encouraged and inspired me. She’s a Conway icon that will be greatly missed!
