of Conway, AR
May 17, 1940 - March 14, 2025
Ramona Bishop-Johnson, 84, of Conway, Arkansas was reunited with so many of her loved ones in Heaven on March 14, 2025. Mona was born on May 17, 1940 in Leslie, Arkansas to Wayland and Inez Henderson. She was preceded in death by her parents; 4 siblings, Leta, Darrell, Colleen and Doug; a stepdaughter, Sheila; her first love, Marvin Bishop and her second chance at love later in life, Carl Johnson.
To know Mona was to love her and she truly had a servant's heart. Teaching was her passion. She proudly commuted to Perryville Elementary for 30 years and taught in many different roles, including P.E. to which she loved to say, ''and would you look at me and think I look like a P.E. teacher?'' She taught Sunday School for decades at Second Baptist Church and Brumley Baptist Church and poured hours into preparing every lesson, even at the age of 84. One of the subjects Mona was most passionate about teaching was God's love and she demonstrated it to others in her everyday life. She was known for encouraging people during difficult times, praying for them and sharing Bible verses that applied perfectly to what they needed at the time. If she was not on the phone checking on someone, she could be found writing cards and letters for them.
Mona also enjoyed all things nature. She could name any bird, butterfly or flower she spotted. She absolutely loved being outside any chance she had. Family and friends were everything to her and she was happiest any time she could be around them with a cup of coffee or ice cream.
''Mona Lou'', ''Mrs. B'', ''Boney Maroney'', our ''Nana'' is survived by her children, Dorcas Pitts (Dwayne), Teddy Bishop (Marguerite) and Chance Johnson; a niece like a daughter, Beth and adopted family members, Sally and Erik; 8 grandchildren, Callie, Jessie, Kyle, Destiny, Ben, Free, Chance, Harmony; 10 great-grandchildren; 11 nephews and nieces and many other friends and relatives. The family would like to thank Magnolia Landing Assisted Living and Gentiva Hospice for the incredible compassion and care they have given Mona during her time with them over the past year.
Funeral services will be held at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at 10:00AM. Visitation will start at 9:00AM, one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park.
An online guestbook is available at www.rollerfuneralhomes.com/conway. If desired, donations can be made through the family to Magnolia Landing Assisted Living in Greenbrier.

I think of Mona a lot and knew she knew the Lord and loved telling you of her faith. It has been years since I attended Brumley Baptist Church but it was a place like going home. Prayers for her family.
Mona was a wonderful Christian example to all who were privileged to know here. We have many fond memories of her.
RIP sweet lady.
Dorcus and Teddy my sincere condolences to the both of you.I am so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord
We are so sorry to hear of Aunt Ramona's passing. Please accept our deepest sympathy.
Mrs. B was one of my most favorite teachers of all time. The love she shared with all of her students was undeniable. She shaped my whole future. Prayers for her family as I know this must leave a huge void. She was such a wonderful person that could light up any room.
Oh my goodness… We’re just hearing of Mrs B passing. We are so saddened but the new home she has arrived at is more beautiful than ever. She taught our son, Stetson at Perryville in kindergarten and she was the best! We have stayed in touch with her over the years… definitely a precious lady we will never forget. Sending love and understanding to her family
Another wonderful reunion in heaven !! One by one, these precious saints from Brumley Baptist are reunited. We met Mrs Mona In the early 90’s when we joined Brumley. Never had I met such a joyous person always laughing and loving on everyone. We were privileged to watch her and Carl blossom. That was such a sweet time…all the fellowships from there are deep in my heart. Mrs Mona was always the first to greet me when I came back to visit Brumley. I know she will be missed by so many especially her children. Thank you for sharing your beautiful mother with us. Tamara and Steve Tallant (Brianna and Olivia)
Sending prayers for the lifelong friends Dorcus and Teddy. I’ll always remember both Mona and Marvin as very encouraging and uplifting folks when seeing them as we grew up. RIP Ms. Mona.
We met Mona at Brumley Baptist Church in 2003, where we attended faithfully until our move to TN. Mona was our wonderful Sunday school teacher. She had so much knowledge for the Bible, which she loved to share with anyone she came in contact with. Mona loved and cherished her friends, family, strangers, it didn’t matter to her. She was a prime example of gods servant. I can just see that beautiful smile on her face when she met god, she always had a smile. She will be deeply missed by so many. Our prayers go out to the family.

One of the kindest ladies I've ever known! Mona was truly a servant of God. Happy that she is in Heaven with her loved ones who have passed before her, but she will be sorely missed by many here on this earth. My deepest sympathy and prayers for Teddy, Dorcas, and the rest of the family.

Mrs. Mona, will be forever loved and missed by many. She was our Sunday School Teacher for many years. She had a big heart to witness to everyone she knew about her Lord and Savior she wanted them to know that Jesus loved them. One day soon I will be waiting to shout around the throne with her worshipping our Savior. Thanks Ms. Mona for all your love
Mona was a treasured friend and a constant inspiration for many years. She was a woman of tremendous faith and great fun, and I will forever miss her laughter and her wisdom. But I know we will see her again.
Dorcas, Teddy, and Chance—I’m so very sorry about your mom. Please know I’m praying that the Lord of all comfort will surround you and your families with His peace during this difficult time. Hugs and love to each of you. Philippians 4:13.
We extend our deepest condolences. With our prayers. Jim and Charlsie McBride
Oh goodness, Mona was so special. She loved us all like we were her best friend. When I started to church at Brumley, I was so broken, with three little heartbroken children. Everyone was so good to us, but Mona was so special and helped us so much. She was the best Sunday School teacher ever. I learned so much. I love you Mona, and your sweet family. See you soon.
I have a lot of sweet memories of time spent at the Bishop home. I am one of the many people Mona led to the Lord. Thankful for the life Mona lived and now rejoicing in Heaven
She will be missed. Prayers for the family.
Dorcas, Prayers for you and your sweet family! Hang on to those good memories that your mom has given you.

Coach Bishop was the basketball coach at Mountain Home when I was a freshman there. His children were small. I never knew Mrs.Bishop Johnson well but always heard good things about her. So sorry family for your loss.
I met this, dear lady and her kids, through the Bryant family. And Harness Girls of Leslie AR.
She was very sweet and much loved and Norma ( Harness) Bryant spoke the world of her.
I remember when they celebrated Marvin Bishop at the Mountainhome high school gym. That was a great evening.
I am very sad, but I babysit for a school teacher who relies on me. So I will not be able to attend. But my love and prayers are with all.
It is with tears in my eyes that I have to say goodbye on earth to one of the best friends that i have ever had. Mona could always make me laugh when i was going through difficult times. She always had a scripture for any circumstance. She led so many people to the Lord. I know the Lord said, "well done good and faithful servant". She is rejoicing with all her loved ones who went before her. Most of all she was so happy to see her Lord and Savior. I will never forget my dear friend and will always pray for her dear family that I also love.
Teddy and Dorcas,
I was so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. Your mother was dear and precious to me and so many others.
I have such special memories of you both growing up at Second Baptist. Your mom and dad were always there for all services and occasion. I know you will really miss her.
I hope to see you both Tuesday.
Love in Christ,
Pam Lee
Heaven welcomed a beautiful angel today. Aunt Mona was a blessing to her family and a true example of a Christian woman. We were blessed to have had her in our lives.
Mona will truly be missed and loved by many. Beautiful happy lady always smiling. Wonderful Sunday School teacher. Prayers for her family!
Teddy and Dorcas, I was sorry to hear about Mona’s passing. I have such fond memories of all the times, throughout the years we spent together. Sorry, I can’t make the service, but hopefully I will be able to make it to Conway to visit soon. Sending love and prayers to you both.
Oh Mona I don’t know where to begin. Dorcas and I are lifelong friends, as you are fully aware. I’ve spent many nights with Dorcas in our younger years; you were always so kind and wonderful to me. Even when I faltered, which I often did, you never judged me. We go so far back, from church to when me and Dorcas were in school, we were a handful to say the least. Thank you for putting up with our antics, and never making us feel bad for them. What I remember about you the most, is your strong Christian faith. It defined you and everyone who knew you felt it when they were around you. It was genuine. You truly were an angel on earth and Heaven welcomed you with open arms. We hate losing you but know you are pain free and happy now. I’m so happy I was privileged enough to know you. Rest in eternal peace.
Such a sweet sweet Lady! Prayers for the family.
Ms Mona was a great Sunday School Teacher she was always happy never had anything bad to say sure will miss her but Jesus Christ will take care of her.
Our deepest sympathy for your loss. Mona was an amazing and beautiful lady. We will cherish our memories of her forever. May God bless and keep you all in his loving hands.
I have known Mona all my life. We were neighbors growing up and I was at their house a lot, visiting with her little brother Doug. Mona came from a great family. I have eaten several meals at their table.
