Elwanda Jean Norris, age 83, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. She was born on October 4, 1941 in Dayton, OH to Herman and Jantra (Gillihan) Holland. Elwanda was a member of Bono Church of Christ. Elwanda was perhaps best known for being kind to all kinds. She spent much of her life as a caretaker, whether to students during her time as a teacher, to patients in assisted living, to sick family members in times of need and to any and all animals fortunate enough to cross her path.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband of 30 years, Gale Fuqua and an infant sister, Regenna Holland.
Left to remember Elwanda are her husband of 34 years, Billy Joe Norris; son, Mike (Cynthia) Fuqua; daughters, Kathy (Michael) Hawkins and Eva (Jamie) Henriksen; grandchildren, Jonathan, Justin, Jarred, Jay, Lacey, Lindsey, Kelby, Carrie and Luke; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Emilie Statler and many other family, friends and loved ones.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025 at Bono Church of Christ (101 Craftsbury Bono, AR 72416) beginning at 2pm with Richard Akins and Don Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Cemetery.
Visitation will precede the service beginning at 12:30pm.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Jonathan Fuqua, Justin Fuqua, Jarred Fuqua, Jay Fuqua, Randy Statler, Weston Statler, Jamie Henriksen and Chance Jones.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Elwanda's honor to the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House or the NEA Humane Society.
Arrangements are under the care of Roller Farmers Union Funeral Home.

Truly blessed to hav had such wonderful kind soul by my side for82 years we have shared awesome parents, l plus Christmas and holidays together most of our lives. We have raised amazing children, what more could we expect out of this life, except to look forward to the next. I will miss you my dear one.
Family of Elwanda, I am so saddened about losing such a wonderful lady. My prayers to the family for God to bless and comfort them as they go through their loss. Elwanda was one of my very best friends, and I enjoyed spending time with her over our years together. I love her and her family. She is now at peace in Heaven with no pain.
