Ruthie Jane Hancock McKenzie, age 88, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at Pocahontas Health and Rehabilitation in Pocahontas, AR. She was born on January 12, 1937 in Fontaine, AR to Ralph Joseph and Delphia Jane (Barnes) Cook. She was of the Baptist faith. She loved flipping houses long before it was popular and fishing.

She is preceded in death by her first husband of 29 years, Carl Hancock; her second husband of 14 years, Larry McKenzie; her parents; children, Ricky Hancock, Phil Hancock and Sheila Finley; brothers, Billy Cook, Jerry Cook, Ralph Cook and David Cook and sisters, Sylvia Cook and Peggy Johnson.

Left to remember Ruthie are her daughters, Carol (Shane) Leonard and Sophia (Mike) Perry; grandchildren, Russell, Laura, Joy, Nicholas, Carla, Phillip, Alex, Dylan and Steven; great grandchildren, Abby, Krista, Kendra, Carly, Shy, Nicolia, Jeremiah, Michael, Page, Bailey, Bentley, Emma, Kaylin, Shelby, Ethan, Karlie, Zander, Jacob, Alivya and Creed; 7 great great grandchildren and many more family, friends and loved ones.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 17, 2025 at Roller Farmers Union Funeral Home (1900 W. Washington Ave. Jonesboro, AR 72401) beginning at 2pm with Norman Leonard officiating. Burial will follow at Lorado Cemetery.

Visitation will precede the service beginning at 1pm.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Russ Forkum, Nick Forkum, Dylan Perry, Alex Keedy, Steven Leonard and Scott Butler.

Arrangements are under the care of Roller Farmers Union Funeral Home.
