Bobby Lamar Benjamin

of Memphis, TN

July 25, 1938 - February 25, 2025

Mr. Bobby Benjamin of Memphis, passed away on February 25, 2025 in West Memphis, Arkansas.

Bobby was born in Pontotoc, Mississippi to the late Marvin and Agnes Benjamin. He began working at the age of 17 and worked for Levi Strauss, eventually settling into a long-time job at Sears as a service tech, retiring after 45 plus years. Bobby proudly served his country, enlisting in the National Guard. He was known to enjoy a good estate sale now and then, searching for antiques and maybe collecting a few and never passing up a good deal. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. His life was defined by his unwavering love for his wife Patsy. Patsy and Bobby were married for 60 years and she was the love of his life. He spent much of his time as a dedicated caregiver to her in later years. Bobby was a caring older brother to Truman, Mary Alice and Rex. Even though the miles separated them over the years he made sure to keep in contact and check on his siblings, especially his little sister, Mary Alice.

Bobby is survived by his son, Marlon Scott Benjamin of West Memphis; grandchildren, Bradley Nathen Watkins, Thomas Mayhall, Craig Moore, Jr., Amanda Bennett, Courtney Womble, Caitlin Benjamin, Dakota Benjamin and Caleb Benjamin; thirteen great grandchildren, as well as his siblings, Truman Benjamin of Illinois, Mary Alice Benjamin Butler of Wynne, Arkansas and Rex Benjamin of Illinois. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Agnes Benjamin; wife, Patsy Chadwick Benjamin in 2019; daughters, Rhonda Lynn Watkins and Deborah Kay Wilson and granddaughter, Paula Mayhall.

Visitation will be held at Roller-Citizen Funeral Home of West Memphis on Saturday, March 15, 2025 from 10 AM to 11 AM. Funeral services will follow with Rev. Tony Wells officiating. Burial will be in Crittenden Memorial Park following services.
