Gene Edward McCutcheon, age 59, of St. Joe, Arkansas passed away peacefully on March 7, 2025 at National Park Medical Center in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He was born in Harrison, Arkansas on June 17, 1965 to Ernest Edward McCutcheon and Joyce Lucille (Stills) McCutcheon.
Gene attended St. Joe High School and was part of the class of 1983. In January of 2025, he enrolled with Central Arkansas Bible College, began coursework and was excited for the opportunity to further his education. Gene was a skilled carpenter by trade and an avid outdoorsman who loved spending time with family and friends and especially enjoyed his time on the Buffalo River.
Gene is survived by his two daughters, Courtney Eliser (Huston) of Branson, Missouri and Brittney Coffey of Branson, Missouri; sisters, Janell Bratton of Harrison, Arkansas and Carla Curtis (Brent) of Fayetteville, Arkansas and a half-sister, Lynetta Lawrence of Western Grove, Arkansas. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Molly Eliser, June Eliser, Eleanor Eliser, Harley Coffey and Rory Jennings, along with nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Gene was preceded in death by his grandparents, Earnest Everett McCutcheon and Hattie Wyatt McCutcheon and Elisha Mays Stills and Fern Hill Stills all of St, Joe; his parents and his first daughter, Lesley Leeann McCutcheon.
Graveside services for Gene will be 1:00 PM Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Osborne Cemetery in St. Joe, Arkansas with Bro. Walter Arthur officiating. Honorary bearers will be Deloin Stills, Pappy Dale Stills, Vernon Stills, Jerry Stills, St. Joe Classmates of 1983, Huston Eliser, Gary Wayne Millsap and Craig Loggins.

Gene will be missed dearly by my family. Though the lesson wasn't long, my oldest will always remember Gene teaching him to track. Gene walked miles with our son one Christmas looking for one of our dogs that didn't come home. Prayers for his whole family.
