of Searcy, AR

June 2, 1952 - March 3, 2025

Randall Lee Young, 72, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at White River Medical Center in Batesville, Arkansas. He was born in Heber Springs, Arkansas on June 2, 1952 to the late Albert Paul and Maurine H. Smith Young.

After a short time in Heber Springs, his parents moved to Searcy and that is where Randall spent the remainder of his life. He graduated from Searcy High School in the Class of 1970. He continued his education at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro and graduated in 1974 and while at ASU he completed the ROTC Program and was Commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army. During his tour of duty, he was stationed in New Jersey and then later was stationed in Germany. He remained in New Jersey for a brief time before returning home to Searcy. Randall went to work for the Arkansas State Department of Education as a Computer Programmer in Little Rock.

Randall was a quiet guy and was a true friend and was there when his friends needed him. He loved his dogs and cats, especially Zip, who was his special companion for many years. They would enjoy long walks before Randall's health prevented those times.

Thank you to the Ash Flat Healthcare and Rehab Center for the care and concern given to Randall over the last few years. Memorials may be made to the Animal Shelter or Humane Society of your choice in Memory of Randall.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Searcy, Arkansas with Military Honors. All services are under the direction of Roller-Daniel Funeral Home of Searcy.

A true conservative activist with a remarkable recollection of historical & political events. Randall served the county & district Republican committees well. May he rest in peace.
