of Conway, AR
December 31, 1927 - March 4, 2025
Jimmy Frank Stapleton, 97, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 4th at his home in the community of Saltillo, Arkansas.
Jimmy was born in Saltillo, Arkansas to John Harry Stapleton Jr. and Rose Nell Carter on December 31st, 1927. In his younger years Jimmy helped lay bricks for what would later become Hendrix College in Conway, before going on to work in the Dave Ward bus factory. He and his wife, Dymple, owned and operated a Grade A Dairy, where they milked over 40 head of cattle every day, on what is now known as ''The Stapleton Place''. After selling their dairy, Jimmy began working for the Faulkner County Road Department, as a heavy equipment operator. Jimmy went on to work for the City of Conway as a heavy equipment operator until his retirement at the age of 60. After his retirement Jimmy spent his time with his wife raising and selling beef cattle.
Through all his years Jimmy loved and faithfully served the Lord. Jimmy served his community churches of Oak Bowery Baptist Church and Saltillo Heights Baptist Church as a Deacon for over 70 years. At the time of his death he was a faithful member and deacon at Oak Bowery Baptist Church. Jimmy accomplished many things in his life, however, his greatest joy was his belief in Jesus Christ and his love for his wife and family.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Thomas (Lida) Stapleton, Edward ''Fat'' (Ozie) Stapleton and sisters, Hazel (Roy) Johnson, Ruby (Arnold ''Choke'') Lachowsky.
Jimmy is survived by his devoted wife of 73 years, Dymple Mathis Stapleton; his son, Stanley (Tina) Stapleton; daughter, Delila (Billy) Reed; five grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A visitation will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025 at Roller McNutt Funeral Home from 6-8pm. A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Oak Bowery Baptist Church starting at 2pm.
