Wickey Edward Cox

of Trumann, AR

April 8, 1950 - March 1, 2025

Wickey Edward Cox, 74, of Trumann, AR left his earthly journey to stroll the streets of gold and fish the lakes of Heaven on March 1, 2025. He was born in Bay, AR on April 18, 1950 to Ishamel and Elsie (Preston) Cox. Wickey grew up in Bay and traveled the southern United States with his job after marrying the love of his life, Vicky Casey. They settled in Brookland, AR most of his life and lived in Trumann the last few years of his life. Wickey owned his own construction company for 55 years. When he didn't own his construction company, he worked for the United States Postal Service and was a foreman supervisor for a chain construction company. Wickey worked hard to provide for his family and make sure that they had what they wanted.

Wickey was a member of Healing Hands Community Church in Trumann. He enjoyed fishing with a bologna sandwich and a cooler of Mountain Dew; music and basketball. He enjoyed Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, classic country and southern gospel music. He cherished making memories with his wife, children and grandchildren. Anyone that met him instantly bonded with him. He had a gift to make people feel special and loved instantly. His children's friends called him dad and sweet papa. He adopted his children's friends and told everyone they were his adopted kids. He had a way of teaching and wisdom he would pass down by acceptance and love.

In addition to his parents, Wickey will be laid to rest by his granddaughter, Caroline Presley Cox; sisters, Linda Touchstone and Peggy Shaw; brothers, Ishamel JD Cox, Larry Cox and Waymond Cox and his nephews, John Oliver Henry, Mark Cox, Larry Cox Jr., Caleb and Luke Gibson.

Wickey is survived by his wife of 46 years, Vicky Cox; a daughter, Misty Cochran and husband, James of Trumann; a son, Nickey Cox of Trumann; granddaughters, Haley Judkins of Pottsville, AR, Olivia Cox of Highland, AR, Emily Coleman of Trumann; Brittnie, Allyson and Jade Cochran of Paragould; grandsons, Stephen Judkins of Pottsville, Jordan Coleman of Memphis, TN, James Cochran III and Oliver Pearson of Paragould; his adopted kids, Jeffery Culbreath, Blaine Duncan, Robert Whitehead, Quinton Stroman, Errika McConnell, Michelle Cobb, Joy Goad, Lynette Anderson, Amy Watson, Paulita Carroll and Cody Green; his sisters, Carolyn Henry of Jonesboro and Joyce Darling of Bay; a brother, Danny Cox of Conway, AR; many nieces and nephews that he cherished and his church family at Healing Hands Community Church.

Chapel services will be 1 pm Thursday, March 6, 2025 at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 West Washington Avenue in Jonesboro with Anthony Patterson officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery in Brookland.

Visitation will be from 5 pm to 7 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.

Nickey Cox, Tory Riley, Jeffery Culbreath, Blaine Duncan, Robert Whitehead and Cody Green will serve as active pallbearers. James Cochran, Stephen Judkins, Tristian Metz and Mason Metz will serve as honorary pallbearers.
