Janie Dorthell ''Dot'' Lewis, 91, of Batesville passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2025.
She was born May 25, 1933 in Walnut Springs, Texas to Jess and Janie (Hicks) Sapp.
Dot was a sweet and independent woman who was always outgoing, spunky and strong willed. She loved watching "Days of Our Lives" and Texas Longhorns basketball and football. She was a big Steph Curry fan. Dot enjoyed talking on the phone and called her friends every day. She also enjoyed baking sweets, gardening and doing cross stitching and crossword puzzles. Dot was a member of First United Methodist Church Chaney Huddleston Sunday School Class and served as treasurer for over 40 years. She also worked at Charlie's Men Store for several years.
Survivors include two sons, Tommy Keith Lewis of Denton, Texas, Jerry Lewis of Searcy, Arkansas; one daughter, Lisa Forrester of Newport, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Cassie Lewis, Sydney DuVall, Madison Owens, Cash Forrester; two great-grandchildren; one niece, one nephew and several cousins and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Frank Lewis; one brother and three sisters.
Pallbearers are Cash Forrester, Steve Wells, Bill Barker, David Smith, Cody DuVall and John Ellis. Honorary pallbearers are the members of the Chaney Huddleston Sunday School Class.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 10:00am at the First United Methodist Church with Katie Pearce officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Memorials may be made in her honor to First United Methodist Church, 615 E Main St, Batesville, AR 72501.

She was such a sweet lady, I've known her for a long time, she would come to the coffee shop, and when I worked at kroger, we would talk about the day and week
Dot was a great neighbor. We were neighbors for close to 60 years and we never had any disagreements. I enjoyed our many visits and talks out on her back deck. Many prayers for her family during this time!
