Elsie Lee Dixon, age 88, a beloved figure of North Little Rock where Elsie and her long-time husband, JD Dixon lived the good life and raised their family. Having a life richly lived and serving in the church and the community. Known also as Avon representative and self-employed for 25 years she enjoyed helping others to a more beautiful self. Elsie had a sense of pride for singing in the choir and teaching Sunday School on Sunday morning to the young children in church. I can't remember anything that mom couldn't do when she set her mind to it, she could sew, knit, crochet, hook rugs and don't let us forget decoupage. She was inspirational. Elsie's pride in life was the fulfillment in her husband, their children and grandchildren. She took immense happiness in their achievements and well-being considering them the most important part of her life. Elsie would look back at her high school years and tell us about being a Lion Cheerleader and basketball player at England High School. Wow, mom was really something!
She was preceded in death by her parents, Seaborn Staton and Modena Staton; husband, JD Dixon, missed but not forgotten; grandson, Victor Dixon; brothers, Joe Staton, Paul Staton, Lonnie Ray Staton; sister, Ruth Grisham and Jeanett Newton.
Survivors include two brothers, Gail Staton (Dorothy) of Humnoke and Seaborn Staton, Jr. (Brenda) of Sherwood; sisters, Martha Cantrell of Sheridan, Fay Brown of Mabelvale; children, Jeff Dixon (Kitten) of North Little Rock, Dena Peckham (Jim) of Maumelle, Kurt Dixon (Shelli) of Ozark; grandchildren, Mitchell Powell (Lara), Madelyn, Allie of Clarksville, Matthew Dixon (Angelina) of Ozark, Tara Dixon, Madison Wheelis (Thomas) of Ozark; great-grandchildren, Dallas Dixon of Ozark and Cadence Dixon of North Little Rock.
