Betty Irene Sparks, 91, of West Memphis passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at Springs of Broadway. She was born on February 2, 1934 to James and Velmar Kirtley.
Betty worked as a Sunday School teacher at Immanuel Baptist, where she also attended church for many years. She enjoyed reading, embroidering, sewing and serving her church.
She was preceded in death her parents; husband, Clifton W. Sparks; daughters, Patricia Ann Tangusso, Linda Darlene, Stephanie Jaquette Wilson; sisters, Lorene Hurst, Patsy Smith, Garnett Ellison, Edith Luongo, Betty Jo Goodnight and brothers, Roscoe Kirtley, James Kirtley Jr. and Bobby Kirtley.
Betty is survived by her daughters, Mary Maynard (Dave), Barbara Ann Major (Lee), Tabitha Modderman (Steve), Romona Daniel (Tony); 24 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and brother, Billy Kirtley.

So sorry to hear about Ms Betty. We went to church with her when we lived in Marion. Such a precious lady. Praying for the family.

Sweet Ms Betty. Her wings will be large!
I can hear the bells ringing. What a wonderful Christian woman. Such a wonderful Sunday School teacher. She would call any Sunday we missed caused she taught my Bradley till he was not in her room then my Chelsea. She truly loved her children in church and her very own. We taught VBS in different classes each year. It was such an honor to be a member of Immanuel Baptist church to worship with her. My heart and prayers are being sent to the family and friends.
