Susie Elizabeth Stovall, 89, of Paris, Arkansas passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025 in Charleston, Arkansas. She was born on November 22, 1935 in Jenny Lind, Arkansas to her parents, John Wesley and Susie Elizabeth (Mizell) Powell.
Susie worked for over 30 years as a teacher and administrator at the Child Development Center in Paris. She loved to sew, quilt, read and was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Mother's Society in Paris.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Howell Stovall; three sisters, Dorothy Griffith, Evelyn Smith and Jackie Noland; four brothers, Johnny, Dan, George and Raymond Powell; two step sisters, Mae Koerdt and Louise Greb and two step brothers, Leon and Gene Greb.
She is survived by one daughter, Susie Fritsche and husband, Glen of Fort Smith; four sons, James Stovall and wife, Marsha of Scranton, Steven Stovall and wife, Ruth of North Little Rock, Keith Stovall of Mansfield and Kenneth Stovall of Paris; two brothers, Carl Powell of Paris and Bill Powell of Heber Springs; one step sister, Edna Shumway of Texas; 14 grandchildren, Justin Stovall, Brandon Stovall, Erin Marchese, Matthew Fritsche, Allison Penzo, Nicholas Fritsche, Jacob Fritsche, Lauren Fritsche, Jesse Stovall, Luke Stovall, Kesha Stovall, Kaylin Stovall, Ethan Stovall and Clint Stovall; 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 6:00-6:30 p.m. with the rosary service beginning at 6:30pm on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paris.
The funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church officiated by Abbot Elijah Owens, O.S.B.. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph Mother's Society, 15 Spruce Street, Paris, AR 72855.
The family would like to thank the staff of Greenhurst Nursing Center for the loving and compassionate care given to mom over the last 32 months.
SUSIE AND ALL THE STOVALL BOYS, I AM SO SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT SUSIE'S PASSING. SHE WAS TO ME ONE OF THE DEAREST PEOPLE, I HAVE EVER MET. I ENJOYED HER COMPANY FOR MANY YEARS AND WILL CHERISH HER MEMORY. OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU ALL. SHE WAS ONE OF THE BEST LADIES I HAVE EVER HAD THE PLEASURE OF MEETING.

We will always treasure our last visit with Susie at Charleston. Benny has many fond memories of both Hal and Susie. Our hearts are with you kids and the grands. God has taken Susie soul home leaving us with memories. Love all of you.

I spent many weekends going with your dad to visit Susie when she was in college at Conway. We’ll always remember those good times. Always loved your dad. He was so quiet and a great baseball player. I totally enjoyed seeing all four of you guys at the reunion. Hope to see you again this year along with Susie.

I will forever remember the stories she told me. SPECIALLY the ones about how she found her peaches ( Ashley Everett) in a field under some rocks and leafs,and thats when she became her peaches..
