James Edmund Eason (Ed) was born on November 20, 1949 in Heber Springs, Arkansas to the late James C. and Vena A. Eason. He departed this life at the age of 75 on February 11, 2025 and entered the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

He was a 1968 graduate of Searcy High School and attended what is now the University of Central Arkansas where he was a member of Army ROTC and met the love of his life, Ann Eason. He graduated with his bachelor's in business in 1972.

Prior to his retirement in 2020 he worked for the State of Arkansas for over 45 years, ending his career with the Arkansas Department of Education. He was a loyal and active member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Conway, Arkansas and of Faulkner County North Gideons. He was a deacon and Sunday School teacher for many years. He looked forward to every opportunity to tell others what Jesus had done for him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife of 53 years, Ann Eason of Conway, Arkansas.

Left to mourn his passing are his daughters, Michelle (James) Byler of Valley Springs, Arkansas and Jacque (Kenny) Rogers of Springdale, Arkansas.

He was a loving Gramps/Bobo to grandchildren, Joey and Adam Byler of Valley Springs, Arkansas, Brooke Dumas of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Sean Rogers of Springdale, Arkansas. He is also survived by sisters, Jamie Weagly of Lititz, Pennsylvania and Ruth (Mark) Hooper of Little Rock, Arkansas. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins and a host of devoted church friends.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2pm on Friday, February 14, 2025 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 3255 Prince Street, Conway, Arkansas with a visitation being held an hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made in Ed's memory to purchase and place Bibles through the Gideons International, PO Box 1362, Conway, Arkansas 72033.
