of Flippin, AR

November 19, 1947 - February 8, 2025

With heavy hearts we announce that on February 8th of 2025, Bert ''Butch'' Valentine Crook of Flippin, Arkansas went to be with his heavenly father at the age of 77.

He was born on November 19, 1947 to the late Bert and Helen Crook. Butch joined the military at the early age of 16, to willingly fight for our freedom so others may have had a chance to stay home during the draft of Vietnam. He served in the Army, Marines and Navy during his 14 years of service. He traveled to many places and learned several different languages, with German being his favorite. Butch also worked as a correctional officer and much more. He had a strong work ethic and a passion to protect and serve; he earned many awards but was humble about them. He was known to tell amazing stories and you would catch yourself laughing and carrying on for hours.

Butch is survived by his brothers, Michael Crook (Donna) of Chesapeake, Virginia and Mervin Crook (Diane) of Elizabeth City, North Carolina; his fiancé of 11 years, Deborah Wheeler of Flippin, Arkansas; his work family, who quickly became his family; daughter Tabitha Davis (Dylan) of Gepp, Arkansas and granddaughter, Carli Yang also of Gepp, Arkansas and many friends, family and loved ones who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Bonita.

Services by Roller-Burns Funeral Home in Yellville, Arkansas are private.
