of North Little Rock, AR
February 22, 1939 - February 6, 2025
Ellis Dewade Ward, 85, of North Little Rock, Arkansas went to be with the Lord, February 6, 2025. He was born February 22, 1939, in Bee Branch, Arkansas to Jessie and Irene Ward.
Ellis was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jean Ward of North Little Rock; children, Tommy, Jimmy, and Debbie Ward; his mother and father, Jessie and Irene Ward; brothers, Calvin Ward and Alvin Ward; and sister, Alma Bane.
Ellis, otherwise known as Wade, retired from the North Little Rock Housing Authority where he dedicated his life for over 27 years to helping others during their retirement years. His former boss stated, ''I don't hear him grumble or complain when he is asked to help. He never puts anyone down, does not ask for compliments or accolades. He comes to work, and helps others, is an asset to the Housing Authority and then comes back and does the same the next day.''
All his family and friends know him as quiet, humble, and happy to give whenever a need arises. He was an avid fisherman and hunter where he spent most of his time with his wife Barbara. Loved by so many and a role model to all who knew him.
Left to cherish his memory is his Son, Ricky Ward (Michelle) of Ward, Arkansas; Granddaughter, Kelsey Ward of Ward, Arkansas; Grandson, Caleb Ward (Alyssa) of Ward, Arkansas; Great Granddaughters, Ansley Grace and Addaleigh Kimber; and Great Grandson, Gunnar Michael.
There will be a visitation on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, from 6-8pm at Roller McNutt funeral home in Conway, Arkansas. Funeral services will be on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at 10:00 am, at Roller McNutt funeral home followed by a burial at Blackwell cemetery in Bee Branch, Arkansas.

Wade was the kind of man that always had a smile until he lost the love of his life. I believe when he entered the portals of glory that smile returned by not only seeing Barbara he got to see his Jesus.
