Timothy Michael Tay, 70, of Benton, AR went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, January 30, 2025. He was born on September 2, 1954 in Bloomington, Illinois to William and Florence Jenkins. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, William Tay.

Tim is survived by a daughter, Kelly Veronica Tay of Tampa, FL, brother, Terance (Barbara) Tay of Bloomington, Illinois and several nieces and nephews. Also left to cherish his memory are special friends, Brenda Beck of Benton and Sue Ellen Pelton of Benton and numerous friends whose life he touched. Tim also had a love for animals and believed in rescuing those animals that needed love. He had his own rescue animals; a dog, Sherlock and his cat, Shadow.

Timothy served 4 years in the United States Air Force. At time of death he was employed by Allied Universal, where he worked Security Guard at Episcopal Collegiate School in Little Rock.

He was a faithful member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church of Benton. Timothy enjoyed running and working out at the River Center,. He ran several marathons to raise money for different causes and even ran a marathon in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Services will be February 22, 2025 at St. Matthews Episcopal Church in Benton. Visitation at 1:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall followed by Air Force Military Honors, then services at 2:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Matthews Episcopal Church, 1112 Alcoa Road, Benton, AR 72015 or Benton Animal Services, 606 Willow Street, Benton, AR 72015

Tim and Wife Cindy were friends of ours in Texas but more like Family to us. We did many things together and they loved our Son Ryan as one of their own Grandchildren. We will always cherish our times with Tim. Tim and Cindy were Ryan's Texas Grandparents. Our thoughts and Prayers are with all during this time.

Kelly, my prayers are for you and your family to have comfort and peace.
Tim was a wonderful man who had a heart of gold and would do anything for anybody. He was always positive and encouraging.
He was truly my best friend and I will miss him everyday. I’m thankful to have Sherlock to remember him by.
