of Little Rock, AR

November 11, 1977 - January 27, 2025

Cynthia "Cyndi'' Gregory, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend passed away on January 27, 2025 at the age of 47. She was a proud resident of Little Rock and loved exploring historic sites and many adventurous activities with her family.

Born to Robert and Martha Elizondo of Mercedes, Texas, Cyndi was raised in a family that valued kindness, hard work and compassion. She carried these values throughout her life, touching the hearts of everyone.

Cyndi is survived by her devoted husband, Joe Gregory and their three daughters, Jordan, Jeneva and Jacy Gregory and mother in law, Odessa Darrough. She also leaves behind her cherished sisters, Angelica Cruz and Myra Elizondo, along with many nieces, nephews and extended family who adored her.

Cyndi was a shining star in both her personal and professional life. She graduated from Southern Nazarene University in Oklahoma with a degree in Marketing and Business. Cyndi embarked on a fulfilling career in philanthropy, serving as the Senior Major Gifts Officer at Baptist Health Foundation. Her dedication to the foundation and its mission made a lasting impact on the community.

Cyndi was a proud and accomplished woman, who was known for her athleticism and grace. She was a standout in high school sports and was crowned Homecoming Queen at Mercedes High School in 1995. It was at Southern Nazarene University when she met Joe. Cyndi moved to Little Rock, where they built a loving home and a family that was the center of their world.

In addition to her professional and family life, Cyndi had a passion for yoga. She was a certified yoga instructor for over ten years. Cyndi loved helping others find peace, balance and strength in their lives. Her gentle spirit and calming presence made her a natural teacher. Students will remember her for her wisdom and kindness.

Cyndi will always be remembered as a kind, loving and supportive soul. She had an extraordinary ability to make everyone around her feel special, loved and understood. Her legacy of love, compassion and service will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Cyndi's legacy will continue to live on in our hearts. As Cyndi would say at the end of her yoga sessions…Namaste. This recognizes who you are, your inner peace and truth.

I met Cyndi Gregory through the Association of Fundraising Professionals. I loved getting to know her and enjoyed her generous spirit and beautiful smile. I cannot believe she has transitioned to heaven - especially in such a tragic and violent way. My heart goes out to Joe and her girls. Sending prayers for peace.

I met this family when they attended Bullock Temple CME Church where Cynthias’ mother in law is our pastor. Such a warm and inviting young woman. My heart is saddened by this loss but heaven has gained a beautiful young woman who will forever be your angel. You will see her daily in each one of the three girls. May God continue to hold each family member very, very, very close.

I met Cindy a short time ago though a mutual friend at 10 Fitness. He encouraged me to try out the yoga classes there, said that the instructor was a real cool lady. Shortly thereafter, I was in full swing in her class. Addmidtly so, it was difficult at first, but she had a way of getting you to believe you could do anything. I returned several times after more determined than the visit before. She gave me a new perspective about. She will surely be missed Signed "The Red Hulk"

I had the pleasure of meeting Cyndi through a summer of basketball with Jeneva. We became family, as her and my wife grew close with every trip. Split between two daughter wanted to make sure she was safe if/when (Zip) Joe wasn’t able to be there. She was easily the best parent of our team and kept a smile at all times. Though short, I’m happy for the time we all spent together. Thank you, Cyndi…R.I.L.

Joe, I’m struggling to find words now. I remember you telling me how you and Cindi met: How proud you were of her. I remember when all your children were born and saw first hand the beautiful family you and Cindi grew, nourished and developed. My heart aches for Cindi, for you and for the children.
Joe, I have known you since you were a young teenager. And I am so, so proud of you and the man , husband and father you have become.
Joe, you know the motto and creed of Tiger basketball where you flourished. God, family, books and ball. Lean on God and your outstanding family. TRUST GOD!
If there is anything that I can do, don’t hesitate.
