Raymond O. Newman of Clinton, Arkansas passed from this life on January 28, 2025 at the age of 87 at Ozark Health Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born July 3, 1937 in Clinton, Arkansas to the late Frank and Ina (Kirkendoll) Newman. He was a veteran, a hard worker and he lived life passionately and unapologetically. He retired from employment in the construction industry in the mid-80s to his small farm in Clinton where he raised a garden, goats and chickens and traveled extensively until just a couple of years before his death.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Michell Lea Newman; siblings, Maggie Emerson, Grady ''Red'' Newman, Carl Newman, Ilene Isom and Leona ''Dee'' Teague; beloved wife of 14 years, Yvonne (Delk) Newman and treasured companion, Veda Keeling.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Gail Knight of Clinton, Arkansas and Janice Lumpkins of Texarkana, Texas; grandchildren, Crystal (Trapper) Moore, Misty (Greg) Corbit, Courtney (Art) Lamb and Dion ( LaShaunda) Knight all of Clinton, Arkansas, Travis L (Kalyn) Lumpkins and Cody (fiancée, Amber) Lumpkins both of Texarkana, Texas; siblings, Danise Harper of Clinton and Joe (Pat) Newman of Shirley, Arkansas; a multitude of great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; a host of extended family, friends, neighbors and of course his faithful canine sidekick, Charley. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him,

Raymond wished to hold his funeral within 24 hours of his passing. There will be a graveside service and interment at 3:00 p.m. January 29, 2025 at Pee Dee Cemetery.
