Ina Madine Lawson

Ina Madine Lawson

of Searcy, AR

January 4, 1938 - January 22, 2025

Ina Madine Lawson, 87, of Searcy, AR passed into the arms of our Lord on January 22, 2025 surrounded by her family.

She married Jacob R. Lawson Jr. on December 22, 1956 in Abilene, TX. They met through a friend at church. The love of her life preceded her to the Lord, June 13, 1991, after 35 years of marriage.

She was born to her parents, R.T. and Olga Chambers on Jan. 4, 1938 in Albany, TX. Also preceding her in death was a grandson, Isaac Gastineau (April 28, 2012); her brothers, Thomas and Lawton Chambers; a sister, Jody Speer and a twin sister, Nadine Ferguson.

Their years together included 20 years in the Air Force. They lived in Abilene, TX; Walter Hill, TN; Lexington, KY and Clark Air Force Base, Philippines. The last 15 years together, she served beside him as he was an elder at Southside Church of Christ in Lexington, KY for 13 years.

She loved her family, friends and Christian family; with a serving heart she kept the kids of couples so they could celebrate New Years Eve with friends or while they unloaded moving trucks. Thanksgiving was a time when they looked for anyone who didn't have a place to go that day and would invite them to dinner. These friends were ''adopted'' into the family and are still loved and cherished today.

These years together they raised five children, Anita Lawson McIntyre (Bill), Bobby Lawson (Renee), Carole Lawson Gastineau (Zane), Kenneth Lawson (Wendy) and Eric Lawson. The blessings continued with 15 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

After Bob's passing, she stepped into the mother role once again, devoting her life to help raise 3 grandchildren. All her family is a testimony of her legacy of a Woman of God.

She loved to sew, flower garden and be with her dear friends, Pauline McCarley, Nora Harris, Janet Howard and Gayle Donaldson in Lexington, KY.

She was known for teaching, ladies Bible class, mentoring young wives and mothers. In addition to children and grandchildren she is survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and friends.

She will be missed greatly. A Celebration of Madine Lawson's Life will be Feb 8, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Cloverdale Church of Christ in Searcy, Arkansas. Visitation begins at 12:00 p.m.

To dear family and friends in Lexington KY area: you are invited to a graveside service in April. The date and time to be determined.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a private fund. Contact: Anita McIntyre.

Celebration of Life service will be live streamed: 1:00 pm Feb 8,2025 on Cloverdale Church of Christ YouTube.

Thank you for sharing Madine’s celebration of life online. It was a blessing to see the strength of family that flowed from her faithfulness. It was a honor to share with her and Eric months back at our mother’s celebration of life in Little Rock. It was a joy to hear her share some of the stories of our father and her in their growing up years. May your family receive manifold blessing from a loving God as you all move into the next phase of your life and faith journey.

At Galata Chemicals, we are deeply saddened by the loss of your mother. Mothers hold a special place in our hearts, and their love for their children is irreplaceable. May her loving memories help ease your pain. Saying goodbye to someone as important as your mother is never easy, but I hope your strength will guide you through this difficult time. Her memory will always be with you.
