of Conway, AR
April 26, 1948 - January 20, 2025
Richard ''Aron'' Tallent, 76, of Conway passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on January 20, 2025, to be with his Savior Jesus. He was born April 26, 1948, in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Thomas and Gwendolyn Tallent. Aron was preceded in death by his parents.
Aron was raised in Fort Smith. From a young age, he aspired to be a veterinarian. His dairyman grandfather had a variety of animals Aron cared for growing up. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and graduated from Northside High School in 1966.
Aron attended the University of Arkansas for his pre-veterinary requirements. While there, a former Northside classmate, Beverly Lane, caught his eye. The two soulmates married in 1968. The newlyweds moved to Stillwater, OK, where Aron earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Oklahoma State University in 1973. After graduation, he practiced in Arkansas and Oklahoma before relocating and purchasing the Conway Animal Clinic in Conway, AR in 1976. Volunteering with 4H during the Faulkner County Fair and serving in the Conway community brought him fulfillment. Aron had a strong work ethic and practiced veterinary medicine for 50 years before retiring in 2023.
As a founding member of Fellowship Bible Church in Conway, Aron was dedicated to his faith and served as an Elder for 18 years. He was instrumental and tenacious in helping to establish the church while always willing to help in any capacity.
Aron and Beverly loved to travel. They shared many road trips with their boys throughout the United States. Disney, Branson, and beach holidays shared with his grandchildren were always a delight for him. In later years, Aron and Beverly enjoyed European and Canadian vacations. During retirement, he took pleasure in maintaining a beautiful lawn and blooming flowers. Cheering on the Razorbacks in Fayetteville or at home made him one of their biggest fans.
Aron was a loving husband for 56 years, devoted father, and doting grandfather. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Beverly; his sons, Scott (Ashley) and Clark (Kim); and grandchildren Ryan, Jacob, Seth, Kate, and Morgan; and sister, Kay Breeden and her partner, Ron Smoot.
A Celebration of Life service will be January 30, 2025, at 10:00am at Fellowship Bible Church in Conway with Shane Wannamaker officiating. A visitation will follow.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Fellowship Bible Church mission trips, Conway Animal Shelter, or Faulkner County Animal Shelter.
Dr. Tallent hired me while I was attending UCA in the 80's. I worked for at the clinic until I graduated. When I applied at Children's Hospital, his referral got me the job Ive been in for 35 years. My boss here called him and Dr. Tallent told them that, "if David would come back today, I would hire him". I was told, that's what landed me this job. I'm the Surgery Coordinator for the Research Center and manager of a Critical Care Research lab and manage a labe for the Dept of Pediatric Surgery. All thanks to Dr. Aron Tallent. thanks for everything and love you buddy, rest in peace til we meet again.
We are sad to hear of the loss of our dear friend and colleague. Dr. Tallent was the consummate professional. His contributions to the profession of veterinary medicine will be missed as will as the “war stories” we shared over the years. It is not the case with all veterinarians, but Aron was truly a healer of “all creatures great and small”.
My memories of him are doing service projects at the clinic with troop 71 and as our veterinarian.
He touched many lives and will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Dear Beverly, Scott and Clark!
We have such fond memories of being your next door neighbors for several years before we moved to Arizona. We enjoyed visiting with your family and watching Scott and Clark grow. We have enjoyed staying in touch all these years and count those years together as some of the best in life's journey. Beverly has sent us yearly Christmas pictures so we have been able to watch the grandkids grow as well. I know you will miss Aron, but we also know angels have gathered around to bring him home to an ongoing life with Jesus our Lord, and you will see him again. Our thoughts and prayers are with you! Ron, Marilyn, Jeff (Cindy), and Amy Willcoxon, and Manda Stanley (Randy)
Rest In Peace, My Brother in AGR. We shared many fun times in College Long ago. Prayers for your Family in the coming days. TT - AI-482
We are so sorry for your loss. Doc was such a great man. We came to know him thru our fur babies a little over 25 years ago. He was so good to us and them. We went from the vet clinic to visiting on the soccer fields while watching our mutual grandchildren play. Luckily all our grandkids were on the same team (so we could really brag them all up) . He showed so much love to his children, grandchildren, us, and our pets. We have missed him at the clinic but he made sure to leave us all in good hands. That was just the way he was, making sure we would all be okay. Again, we are so sorry for your loss and may God take you all into his arms and comfort you during this time. Our prayers are with all of you..
Dearest Beverly,
Aron was part of the fabric that wove together the Farnsworth family. From his early high school days helping Principal Earl (Skipper) Farnsworth set up equipment at football games, to driving the brand new 1965 Mustang out to California, to hosting the Yoders in September 2019 in Fayetteville for Lee's Hall of Honor recognition. He was a dynamic and beloved extended member of our family, and he will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.
With much love,
Paige Yoder Célestin

I was blessed to have been able to work for Dr Tallent for 15 years. He treated me so good. He believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. He encouraged me to learn and challenged me to be the best I could be. I am a much better person for have spend many years working with and for Dr Tallent. I am so thankful for ALL the opportunities that he put before me and allowed me to be part of. I am grateful for having been able to maintain a friendship with Dr Tallent even after I left employment with him. Most importantly I am thankful for the example of the Godly person Dr Tallent was. He will be greatly missed but the person he was will live on forever.
I always enjoyed seeing Arron at the gym!! He will greatly be missed!! Prayers for you and your family.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Doc was one of a kind and took care of my fur babies for many years. He was always there for me when I had a problem with one of my babies. I am not sure why God called him home but I know he is happy and free of any pain. May God wrap his arms around all of you and give you peace in this season of life. He will truly be missed. Hugs and prayers.

In 1998, we first met Aron in Conway, as the veterinarian to our sweet Cocker Spaniel. A year later, we greeted Bev and Aron, as they became our neighbors, church friends, and good friends. We have shared many special times together such as children’s weddings, births, and joys of grandparenthood.
Our entire family will miss Aron!
Beverly and family, I was so sorry to learn about Dr. Tallent passing. We worked together many times during the 4-H Rabies Clinics when I worked for the Faulkner County Extension Service. Prayers for you and all the family.

Thankful for the opportunity to know and to have worshipped with wonderful family. May I offer my deepest sympathy to all.
He was our first vet in Conway 36 years ago. We boarded her at the clinic several times including when I had to make a trip back to MI for the death of my father. He will be missed.
Our prayers and love are with Beverly, Scott and Ashley, Clark and Kim and the grandchildren and all family members and friends.
We are thankful that Aron is with God in heaven and will be reunited in heaven with us all one day. Much love,
Larry and Kay Herndon
Dear Bev and boys,
I was surprised and saddened to learn of Aron's passing. We have lost so many dear ones recently. I shall remember him as a friend and brother in Christ. I shall be praying for you all as we await that certain reunion we shall have with him in the clouds when we meet the Lord in the air.
In Christ's love,
Ed Eason
