Kathy Lynn Norwood, surrounded by her loving family, passed away on January 22, 2025 at the age of 72. She was born on September 28, 1952 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Eugene and Mary Southworth.

Kathy graduated from National Park Community College in Hot Springs where she earned her associate's degree in nursing. Over the course of her 30-year career as a Registered Nurse, she worked primarily in critical care, preoperative care and recovery surgery. Kathy was a dedicated teacher to both her patients and colleagues, always focused on improving health outcomes. Her compassion and commitment to her work, family and friends were unmatched.

In her personal life, Kathy enjoyed countless adventures filled with laughter. Whether it was spending time on rivers, lakes, or hunting camps with family and friends, Kathy's home was always a gathering place. Her open door policy made it a welcoming haven for those she cared about. Kathy hosted many joyful holiday feasts, game day celebrations and casual BBQ get-togethers, creating cherished memories for all who were lucky enough to be part of her life.

She was also an avid fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Kansas City Chiefs. In addition, Kathy had a passion for horse racing, casinos, traveling and music, and she cherished the many concerts she attended with friends and family.

My heart hurts, so soon after Dickie. As your mother has now gone to be back with him, And the lord!

Know she loved you all!
I will miss our conversations. Her voice and you “Got this’’ or “you earned that”. Quote, when we would discuss things!

Praying that Kathy and Dickie, sit back and just watch the “shunanagins” and laugh your hearts away!
Love you very much!
Your sister-n-law

Praying for God's love to comfort each of you during this difficult time. Kathy came into my life when I was just 10 years old when she started dating my big brother, Dicky. The memories I have of those early years and throughout my life will be cherished forever. She has been a wonderful sister-in-law and friend the past 55 years. Our hearts are broken but may her memory always bring comfort.

I want you to know that my prayers are with you and your family. This loss is so sad. So soon after Dick’s passing. Losing a parent/grandparent is difficult. The last month has been such a rollercoaster. Your dedication to Kathy was so admirable. She loved you and I know you loved her.
