of Marion, AR
October 1, 1955 - January 21, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Vinson Alan Shinabery at his home on January 21, 2025.
Vinson grew up in Marked Tree, Arkansas and graduated with honors from Marked Tree High School in 1974. He pursued several studies until deciding to become a pharmacist like his father, sister, and three brothers. He graduated from the UAMS College of Pharmacy in 1986 and practiced community pharmacy until his retirement. He was known for his kindness and caring counseling for patients. When he wasn't behind a pharmacy counter, he was on a golf course. He was an avid golfer and a good golf instructor for beginners. He was a self-taught guitarist and enjoyed songwriting, reading, and creative writing. He loved family and competed with his three brothers for the role of favorite uncle at all the family reunions. He will be dearly missed. Out of all the memories, one shines brightest. He was an outstanding little league pitcher, and his father bragged that he would have been a major league contender, if not for a back injury in high school. Of course, Dad was the coach.
He is preceded in death by his parents Elmer Lee Shinabery Jr. and Marie Catalina Shinabery, and by his brother Randy Lee Shinabery, whom he loved and respected. Surviving family members are his sister Dale Farris (Gary), brothers, Mark Shinabery (Dede) and Elmer Lee Shinabery III. Four nephews, Lee Shinabery (Kerri), Gill Shinabery (Cari), Tyler Shinabery (Megan), and Spencer Shinabery. Three nieces, Stephanie Shinabery, Leslie Farris-Hodgson (Quentin), and Robin Rucker (Stuart).Plus, eight great-nieces and great-nephews.
