Bobbye Jean Jones

of Little Rock, AR

January 7, 1936 - January 20, 2025

Bobbye Jean Garner Jones- 89- of Mabelvale, AR went to be with the Lord on Monday January 20th, 2025. She was born January 7th, 1936 in Amity, AR, the eldest child of Kenneth F Garner & Lottie E Floyd Garner. Bobbye graduated high school in Amity, AR, valedictorian of her class and proud of her basketball team accomplishments. In 1953 she married her high school sweetheart & followed him to San Diego when he joined the Navy. She returned to Amity to deliver their first child but soon hit the road again when a job for MOPac railroad, on a bridge gang, was presented to the young family. They lived in multiple states and expanded the family before settling in Mabelvale in 1962.

Her passion for travel and adventure had been ignited. Summers were spent at the lake, camping, boating and skiing. Fall brought motorcycle trips and following Razorback football and basketball, traveling to games in the RV. Bowling league and square dancing filled many evenings and weekends. Bobbye loved working in her yard and enjoying nature. She loved to laugh. Her laugh was distinctive and infectious. Bobbye enjoyed a fulfilling career as a meat buyer for Safeway and then Harvest Foods. She worked hard to enjoy the vacations and travels that took her to every state.

Bobbye was preceded in death by her beloved parents and her only sibling, Kenneth Garner Jr.; as well as her ''favorite'' son, Bruce Jones.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Jones of Little Rock, her granddaughter, Sasha Coburn-Pilkington (Natalie) of Poyen, and two great-grand daughters, Lottie and Rosie Pilkington; as well as her grandson, Stormy Jones of Little Rock

Her legacy is her love of God, family and fun.
As we mourn her passing we also celebrate her life as she did and wish her rest in eternal peace.

Service will be Friday, January 24th at 1pm at Oak Park Baptist Church (8200 Flintridge Road, LR). Interment following at Jones Cemetery in Amity, Arkansas.

Donations may be made to Oak Park Baptist Church.

I had the honor to care for Mrs. Bobbye aka Nana Banana for the two months she spent in Sheridan Healthcare. Within those two months, I can say I immediately fell for her! I'll remember our talks. Our giggles. And her great loving heart. Thank you for these short but great memories Nana.
You'll forever have a special place in my heart
