Troy Alvia Smith, Jr. (T.A. Smith), a man of God, passed away on January 19, 2025 to be with his Lord and Savior and be reunited with his wife of 68 years, Yvonne. He was born on May 25, 1936 in McComb, Mississippi to the late Troy Alvia Smith, Sr. and Marie (Hardin) Smith. He was a member of Highway 5 Church of Christ and loved by many who came to know him by his church family throughout the years. T.A. was a devoted and loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and husband to his beautiful wife, Yvonne.
He is survived by his sons, Mike Smith and wife, Wanice Sims Smith of Spring Hill, Tennessee; Greg Smith and Zena Smith of New York City and Ricky Smith of New Orleans, LA; grandchildren, Jonathan Smith, Tiffany (Matt) Smith Snow and great-grandchildren, Elijah Tyler Snow, Graham Riley Snow and Hudson James Snow.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne Watts Smith; father, Troy Alvia Smith, Sr. and mom, Marie Hardin Smith; sisters, Marie ''Sissy'' Lane, LaVon Freeman, Janie Skipper and brother Donnie Smith.
Visitation is Saturday, January 25, 2025 from 1:00-2:00PM at Roller Crouch Chapel in Mountain View, Arkansas. Funeral services will follow the visitation beginning at 2:00PM with Brother Steve Hentz and Brother Ronnie Lofton officiating. Interment will follow the service at East Richwoods Cemetery in Mountain View, Arkansas.
Pallbearers are Jerry Dunaway, Luke Dunaway, Eddie Cagle, Russ Jackson, Matt Snow and Bobby Halpain.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Guyana Missions South America, c/o Spring Hill Church of Christ, PO Box 696, Spring Hill, TN. 37174.
