Loretta Jane Foresee, age 90, of Harrison, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 20, 2025. She was born on May 28, 1934, in Marion County, Arkansas, to Jessie Oren and Ruby (Fisk) Stackhouse.
Loretta graduated from Yellville High School in 1954. After graduation, she moved to Kansas City, Missouri, and worked as a secretary at Memorial Gardens. She married the love of her life, Thomas Von Foresee, on December 19, 1954. Loretta dedicated herself to her family, leaving the workforce to raise her young children. She later returned to work as an inspector at Deluxe Check Printers from 1965 to 1975. Loretta was a woman of strong faith and found joy in sharing her Christian beliefs with others. She had a compassionate heart and always sought to help those in need. Loretta cherished her family and created a warm and loving home.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years, Thomas Von Foresee; her parents, Jessie and Ruby Stackhouse; an infant brother, Clifford; his brother, Gene, his sister-in-law, Evelyn (Lemmon) Stackhouse; his brother, Max, his sister-in-law, Mary (Sivewright) Stackhouse; his sister, Maxine, his brother-in-law, Allen Crosswhite; his son, Garry Von, his daughter-in-law, Nancy (Swedenburg) Foresee; his son-in-law, Houston McElroy; and two precious great-grandchildren.
Loretta is survived by her sister, Argie Jackson, sister-in-law, Freddie Foresee; her loving children, daughter, Judy McElroy; son, Dwayne Foresee, and daughter-in-law, Karen Foresee; and son, Mark Foresee, and daughter-in-law, Doris Foresee. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Robbie and Lindsey Hayes, Greyson and Chelsea Foresee, Jamie Foresee, Derek and Christina Foresee, Tyler and Kristy McElroy, and Taryn Foresee; and her adored great-grandchildren: Ollie, Emma, and Lena McElroy, Haylea, Hunter, and Remington Gonzalez, Caleb, Tristan, and Amelia Foresee. She will be missed by her nieces and nephews: Leisa Foresee, Heather Cook, Randy Stackhouse, and John Stackhouse, as well as a host of extended family and friends.
The family would like to thank the many aides, nurses, doctors, and the staff of Newton County Nursing Home for the care and comfort they provided.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home in Harrison.
The funeral will follow at 11:00 officiated by Scott Gilmore.
The interment will be at Foresee Cemetery in Lead Hill, Arkansas.
Pallbearers are Hunter Gonzalez, Jamie Foresee, Tyler McElroy, Derek Foresee, Greyson Foresee, and Robbie Hayes.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Foresee Cemetery, 369 E. Black Ranch Road, Lead Hill, Arkansas 72644.
