of Romance, AR
February 6, 1933 - January 14, 2025
Loreda Evelyn Stice, 91, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 with her family by her side. She has called many places in Arkansas her home, from South New Hope to Des Arc and many places in between. She was born on February 6, 1933 to the late Charles Isaac and Stella Mae Harris Bishop in South New Hope, Arkansas, which is now Russellville. She was known to be a woman of strong faith and was very active in her church wherever she was.
She was preceded in death by parents; her husband of 52 years, Chester TW Stice; one son, Kenneth Stice and one daughter, Benita Stice, along with sixteen brothers and sisters. Left to cherish her memory are her seven children, Chester Leon Stice, Jim Stice, Randy (Laura) Stice, Bobby (Kim) Stice, Carolyn Verdin, Lavonne (Claude) Gillmore and Jeanette Halfacre; 26 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren and 34 great-great grandchildren; one sister, Nina Joyce Bishop, along with many nieces, nephews, other extended family and many friends.
Loreda was the oldest of 18 children and loved their family get-togethers. She looked forward to them and was excited when they all got there. She was an active member of the Sand Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Des Arc for many years and you could find her there anytime the doors were open. She was an amazing woman who wanted to learn all she could. She only completed the 3rd grade in school but went back and worked to complete her GED when she was 60. She was very proud that she was able to do that, but her family was proud of her for her achievements.
Her real joy was her family. She was known by some as a strict mother, but they knew she loved them. She loved the springtime when she could get out and work in her yard and garden. She had a green thumb and loved her flower garden the most. Her occupation was being a homemaker, which was a task with seven children, but she loved every minute of it. When she had her down time, she enjoyed painting and playing with her grandchildren and sometimes just sitting and watching the hummingbirds around her house. She looked forward to taking trips up in the mountain to visit family and friends.

May God comfort y’all in your loss, but rest assured she can see now and what a glorious thing she is seeing at the feet of Jesus. She was such a sweet lady and a good friend to my mom.
