October 24, 1950 - January 7, 2025
Vicki Roberson Runyan was born on October 24,1950 in Texarkana, Texas to parents, Rubin and Ina Roberson. She spent her formative years growing up in Texarkana, El Paso and Little Rock.
At the age of 17, a handsome man with lots of wavy black hair, named Robert, entered her life. Upon graduating from the Little Rock Public School system in 1968, Vicki and her family moved back to Texarkana. But the distance was not going to stop Robert from pursuing the woman of his dreams and thus a very long-distance courtship ensued. After four marriage proposals, she finally agreed to become his wife and partner in life.
Robert and Vicki spent their young married life riding motorcycles, exploring every back road in Arkansas and camping in local parks. Together, they raised two daughters, Gina and Tammye. Vicki was a devoted Mother, Daughter, Wife and Friend. She attended every school and sport activity, led a Girl Scout Brownie troop and cheered at softball games. Vicki also had an adventurous side and she did not shy away when her husband said, "let's train in martial arts" and achieved a black belt in Taekwondo!
Vicki worked full-time outside of the home all of her life but made her faith in Christ her priority. She attended church faithfully every Sunday and ensured her Children and Grandchildren knew about Christ. Her Christianity was evident in her actions and communications with others. She was selfless, always doing without, so her Children and Grandchildren could have more than she did growing up.
Vicki was a devoted Wife to Robert for 56 years. She was a devoted Mother to Gina Hampel (Bob) and Tammye Johnson (David). Vicki was a devoted Grandmother to Stephen Galusha (Magan) and Danielle Singleton (Bart) and devoted Great-grandmother to Zachary and Preston Galusha and Sawyer and Ryker Singleton. Vicki is survived by her family members listed above as well as her brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Dona Roberson of Texarkana, Texas and their children Jonathan, Josh and Jeremy Roberson and a host of other relatives and friends.
Vicki was reunited with her parents, aunts, uncles and cousins in Heaven on January 7, 2025. We celebrate her life well lived and her unwavering faith in Christ!
