Dana Lloyd Ballmer, age 88, passed away December 30, 2024 at Baptist Medical Center in Conway, AR. He was born November 28, 1936 in Santa Monica, CA to Lloyd and Jean (Dana) Ballmer. He grew up in El Segundo and enjoyed many friends, body surfing and playing basketball. He joined the Navy in 1956. In 1957 he married JoAnn Wright and they had two children. They divorced in 1971.
He married Melinda Steuber Martin in 1972.
He was employed by Allstate Insurance Company in the Life and Health Underwriting Department. He continued his career with Pacific Mutual Life Insurance Company in Newport Beach, CA and then at Transamerica Life Insurance Co as AVP of Special Risk. He completed his career at Osborn Laboratories of Kansas City as Senior Vice President of Sales.
Dana retired in 1999 and he moved to Eugene, Oregon where he enjoyed tennis, golf and attending University of Oregon sports events (baseball, basketball and especially as a long time season ticket holder to football games). Go Ducks!
He and his wife moved to Conway in February 2015 to join many family members coming from Southern California. He enjoyed watching his family grow as 6 great grandchildren came along in the Conway area. He also enjoyed meeting and making new friends and exploring new places locally.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years; his son, Mark (Rebekah) of Bainbridge Island, WA and his daughter, Michelle (John) Kepke of Greenbrier, AR. He loved his 6 grandchildren and their spouses, Elliot (Eileen) Benjamin, Seattle; Lauren (Joel) Mooers, Seattle; Phillip (Katie) Benjamin, Seattle; Kelley (Kyle) Krogman, Greenbrier; Lindsey (Dylan Waugh) Kepke, Conway and Jonathan (Emma), Greenbrier. There are also 12 great grandchildren near and far that he cherished.
His family wishes to thank Conway Regional Medical Center and Baptist Medical Center for all the medical care and support provided and also gives thanks to Hospice of Arkansas who provided care, support and resources to the patient and family as needed.

My heart felt sympathies to Melinda and Dana's entire family at this time. Dana was a real class act and one of my best friends of well over 60 years. I shall value the memories for ever.
