Roy E. Charles, 87, of Vilonia, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord, on December 23, 2024. He was born August 14, 1937, in Pike County, Kentucky to Grayson and Octavia Charles.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Doris Charles; sons Dwayne Charles and Jimmy Charles; brothers Curt, Dewey, Clyde, and Ernest Charles; and sisters Olive Evans, Imal Brown, and Violet Canada.

Roy served in the Marine Corps from 1955-1965 and then went on to become a Security officer for the Tuscaloosa Veterans Affair. Roy was a Master Mason and a member of Beryl Baptist Church.

Roy is survived by his grandchildren, Grayson (Courtney) Charles of Livingston, Texas, and Jada Charles of Eutaw, Alabama; great-grandchild Oakleigh Charles of Livingston, Texas; and sister, Norma Gartin of Pikeville, Kentucky.

A Graveside Service will be held on January 3rd at 1:00 p.m. at Crestlawn Memorial Park, Conway, Arkansas.

My heart and love go out to his sister and grandchildren. We kept in touch often during the past few years by texting news and family happenings. My sister Doris loved him and brought him into our family circle. They are together now for all time and in heaven together. God bless his family
