September 23, 1955 - December 29, 2024

Richard ''Richie'' W. Poe, a beloved member of our community, passed away at the age of 69 on December 29, 2024. A cherished dentist known for his compassion and care, Richie dedicated 40 years to connecting with and loving the folks of Harrison.

Richie's life was a testament to his love of his family, his faith and his passions. He was a devoted grandfather, father and husband. Nothing made him happier than spending time with them. He was a dedicated member of Northside Church of Christ, his second family. He was a passionate fisherman, singer, Razorback fan and loved Andy Griffith.

Richie's light will continue to shine in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed but is singing with Jesus now.

He is survived by his wife, Becky; his daughters, Ellie Jane (Kevin) of Bentonville, Arkansas and Emma Gammon (Taylor) of Madison Alabama; grandchildren, Ella, Lucy, Millie, Hattie and William; his sister, Alisa Davidson (Dan) of Searcy AR and a host of nieces and nephews who will deeply miss him.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:00 AM at Northside Church of Christ with Steve Powers officiating. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery. Arrangements are by Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.

Richie was a great friend of our family. He was always positive about life like his Mom and Dad, Ruth & Dick. We knew him before he became Dr. Poe and he was always the same. He had a beautiful way with words… what a talent, whether he was speaking or writing, he was both funny and purposeful. Richie was the very definition of compassion; he had the heart of Jesus. He will be sorely missed and never forgotten. His kindness and Christian spirit will forever be etched in our minds.

Becky, Emma & Ellie,
We were so sorry to hear of Ritchie’s passing. Ritchie worked for Lisa’s dad at Walter’s while he was in high school & Lisa’s family lived behind the Poes when they moved to Harrison. So, our families go way back. It was nice after many years to reconnect as Sky was at Harding with your daughters.
Our hearts are with you all as you mourn your huge loss. Hold onto all those wonderful memories you each have of this fine Christian man!

This man had my respect, admiration, and he was someone I was lucky to have known. The world would be a better place if there were more people like Richie. I am heartbroken over his loss and even more so because Dean and I had a good visit about ten days ago with him and Becky. We heard how he was ready to begin that last chapter of his life with Becky by moving to NE Arkansas. I shared the common love of photography, family and I was enjoyed our conversations relating to that. Richie, we are sad to see you leave us but happy to know where you are. Thank you for being such a great guy. Our love and prayers for his family in the days ahead.

Becky, Ellie & Emma we extend our deepest sympathy. Richie was a good friend and a superb dentist. He was a very helpful person. Some years ago I had to travel internationally and a few hours before I had to depart, I had a tooth flare up. He made a special trip to the clinic on the weekend to deal with the issue. It was a big relief knowing that I would not have to make a 14 hour flight fearing the tooth might become very painful.
