of Osceola, AR
March 10, 1950 - December 25, 2024
Moreland Boyd White, Jr., of Osceola, Arkansas died at his home on December 25, 2024. He was born in Memphis, Tennessee on March 10, 1950 to Peggy St. John White and Moreland Boyd White. He attended schools in Osceola and graduated from Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri, where he was a member and officer of the Sigma Chi fraternity and a member of the Honorary Skulls of Seven. He married Christie Munnerlyn in 1973 and they lived in Osceola where Moreland farmed on his 100 Year Family Farm and where their daughter, Elizabeth Lauren, was born. The family moved to Jamaica for a farming venture in the 1980s and then lived in Bakersfield, California before returning to Osceola. Moreland loved the outdoors and all things in nature. He was an avid reader and supporter of wildlife and ecological causes. He was deeply spiritual, serving as the Junior Warden at Calvary Episcopal Church in Osceola. His love of travel started early in life and continued while he and his family traveled the world. He will be deeply missed by his family, many friends and his precious dog, Bailey, whom he faithfully walked daily and by his snuggly cat, Kona. Immediate survivors are Christie Munnerlyn White, Elizabeth White Short and a brother, Godfrey St. John White. Memorials are requested for the Osceola Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 443, Osceola, AR 72370 or Calvary Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 292, Osceola, AR 72370.
