Dale G. Whitfield, 93, of Mountain View, Arkansas passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024 at his home. Dale was born on March 21, 1931 in Calico Rock, Arkansas to the late George H. ''G.H.'' and Ada Elizabeth (Richardson) Whitfield.
Dale married the love of his life, ''his bride'' as he called her, Marie Stewart on September 3, 1950 and they were married for 62 years until her passing in 2012; to this union three children were born, Phyllis Copeland, Ann Whitfield and Jeanne Herrington.
Dale lived his life for the Lord and his family. He served for many years as an elder in the Church of Christ and had the honor of performing many baptisms and marriages for family and friends. Dale was a veteran of the United States Air Force where he served his country from 1951-1954 in Korea. He earned his Master's Degree and began teaching in Corning, Arkansas in 1958 with his wife, Marie; in 1962 they taught in Brosely, Missouri and in 1965 started teaching in Mountain View until they retired in 1989. While he taught in Mountain View he led tours through Blanchard Caverns in the summer and drove a school bus to make ends meet; both Dale and Marie were hard workers and did everything out of love for the Lord, each other and their family. Dale left a lasting impact and will be greatly missed by all of his loving family and friends.
Dale is survived by his three daughters, Phyllis Copeland of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, Ann Whitfield of Mountain View, Arkansas and Jeanne Herrington of Mt. Pleasant, Arkansas; his grandchildren, Tracie Jadrich, Erin Duncan and husband, Nathan, Abby Cooper Everett and husband, Clint, Sam Cooper, Maggie Cooper Cannon and husband, Lance, Emma Cooper Caraway and husband, Kohl, Lucian Herrington and wife, Emily, Jackson Herrington and wife, Katie and Rori Brooks and husband, Tanner; eighteen great-grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren and one on the way; along with many extended family and friends.
Dale is preceded in death by his parents, George H. ''G.H'' and Ada Elizabeth (Richardson) Whitfield; ''his bride'' of 62 years, Marie Stewart Whitfield; grandson, Jacob Douglas Motes and seven siblings, James Whitfield, Bill Whitfield, Bob Whitfield, Daisy Majors, Dessie Stroud, Cecil Havron Whitfield and Ada Mae Whitfield.
Visitation is Thursday, December 26, 2024 from 1:00-2:00PM at Highway 5 North Church of Christ in Mountain View, Arkansas. Funeral services follow the visitation beginning at 2:00PM with Charles Hill reading the obituary and Steve Hentz delivering the message. Interment will follow the service at the Historic Cemetery of Mountain View where he will be laid to rest next to Marie, ''his bride''.
Pallbearers are Charles Hill, Jerry Dunaway, Luke Dunaway, Bobby Halpain, Josh Halpain and Virgil Treadway. Honorary pallbearers are Dale's grandsons.
Roller Crouch Funeral Home in Mountain View, Arkansas is in charge of the arrangements.
Our best thoughts to the family. I will always remember the positive advice that Mr Whitfield gave me in high school and the good example he set to all of us, every day. Rest in peace.

My siblings and I are saddened to hear of Dale's passing. He was a good friend and neighbor to our dad, Don Jordan. I pray that God will bring peace and comfort to all of the family and Dale's many friends.
Mr. Whitfield was always a positive example to his students. He taught being kind. Prayers for his family.
Dale will be missed he always had a kind word for everyone. Dale loved the Lord and doing the Lords work. He could lead a Christian song with zeel and zest .
