Gladys Lee Tinkle

of Mountain View, AR

October 5, 1934 - December 23, 2024

Gladys Lee (Mitchell) Tinkle,
Of Mountain View, AR,
October 5, 1934 - December 23, 2024

Gladys Lee (Mitchell) Tinkle was born October 5, 1934 at Fifty-Six, Arkansas to Floyd and Verlie (Sands) Mitchell. She went to her long awaited home on December 23, 2024 at the age of 90 years.

Gladys was born and raised in the Gaylor Community of Stone County, Arkansas. She married John Edward Tinkle on June 15, 1951 and moved to the Levisy Flat Community. John and Gladys along with their children moved the family to Indian Wells, California in the fall of 1959 for better opportunities. Gladys was a homemaker. The family moved back to stay in Mountain View in 1966. Her family then went into the Poultry and cattle industry on their family farm off of Airport Drive around 1968. John and Gladys then opened up a Sawmill off of Tuttle Ridge Road in 1977, followed by a Landfill where the current recycle center is located in 1978, and moved the mill to that location in 1979. Gladys was a bookkeeper and parts runner.

Gladys was a kids Sunday school teacher, and had a nursing home ministry along with other church ladies. Her church family affectionately called her Sister Gladys. She was a member of the Eastern Star. Gladys was an exceptional green thumb. Her flower beds and yard always had the most beautiful iris and blooming shrubbery.

Gladys was a painter/crafter and a member of the Art Guild. She was an avid football/sports fan, loving in particular watching and cheering on her son's sports and her grandchildren. Gladys was a seamstress, making clothes for her children and then making quilts for her family. She would crochet, knit, and make blankets for any new babies in the family. Her grandchildren also remember her exceptional vegetable beef soup and pancakes. And everyone that knew her would remember her bright smile and her happy disposition.

Gladys is survived by three sons, Johnny Tinkle, Steve Tinkle and wife Susan, Tim Tinkle and wife Donna; Daughter-in-law, Robin Tinkle; Brother-in-law, R.P. Tinkle; grandchildren, Kasey Tinkle Sims and husband Ladd, Jarett Tinkle and wife Blair, Kevin Tinkle and wife Katie, Ryan Tinkle and wife Leah, Anna Tinkle Harlan and husband Brandon, David Tinkle, Travis Tinkle, and Amy Tinkle; great-grandchildren, Littlepage Sims, Laddie Sims, Abbey Tinkle, Peyton Tinkle, Whitney Harlan, John Tinkle, Rex Tinkle, Christopher Tinkle, Levi Tinkle, and Cooper Tinkle, and a host of nieces and nephews.
