Donald Lee Guthrie, age 85, passed away peacefully December 15, 2024. He was born September 4, 1939 to Johnie and Ethelene (Watts) Guthrie in Gilbert, Arkansas. Don spent his life cultivating a love for the outdoors, which remained a lifelong passion. He was a dedicated friend whose warmth and kindness touched everyone he met.
During his time in Wisconsin, Don was a successful, self-employed owner of Guthrie's Drywall for 20 plus years. He retired in the late 90's and came back to family in Arkansas, where he made memories that will live on.
In Mountain Home, Don was a member of the County Line Coon Hunting Club, where he enjoyed hunting with his walkers alongside friends. Over the years, several of his dogs achieved the status of Grand Knight Champion, not only in Arkansas but also as a member of the Manitowoc County Coon Hunter Club in Wisconsin, a testament to his dedication and skill as a coon hunter. Don also cherished deer hunting and delighted in sharing stories of his adventures with friends and family.
Don is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Konemann of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Donetta Mareth (Pat) of Lowell, AR; stepdaughters, Debbie Gross and Denise (Kitten) Gross both of Wisconsin; his brothers, JC Guthrie of Mountain Home and Danny Guthrie of Afton, Oklahoma and his sister, Katie Shearin of Tullahoma, Tennessee. Don is also survived by 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Sandra Schultz and two sisters, Ann Hall and Shirley Weaver.
A visitation will be Friday, December 20th from 5 to 7 PM. Funeral service will be 10 AM Saturday, December 21st at the Roller-Burns Funeral Home Chapel in Yellville, Arkansas with Brother Jimmy Dale Huskey officiating. Interment will follow in the Osbourne Cemetery in St. Joe, Arkansas.

Sorry for the families loss of a son, father and uncle. I will greatly miss my buddy, having coffee and pancakes on occasional mornings, hitting the auctions on Fridays, bringing me deer quarters to make Jerry with and just being there for me when I needed a friend. His heart was big, always willing to help someone. My children thought alot of Don and send their regards. I love you and will miss your smile greatly. Soar high with the eagles my friend.

I have known Don since 1959 when he and his family lived in Wauconda. He was a very good friend and caring person. I will miss his holiday calls. Rest in peace my friend.
