Alvin Richard King passed away peacefully in his home in Marion, Arkansas on Monday, December 16, 2024. He had recently celebrated his 75th birthday on December 1st. He was born to Fred D. King and Nancy C. King in Springfield, Ohio on December 1, 1949. Alvin was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, David and Stephen King.

After high school graduation in 1968, Alvin attended a diesel mechanic school in Nashville, TN. After completing his training, Alvin joined the United States Air Force in 1969 as a jet engine mechanic. Alvin served 4 years, ending his service with 6 months overseas in Thailand. After leaving the military, Alvin worked as an auto mechanic in Memphis, TN. In 1984, he met and married Jerri. In 1993 they moved to Marion, Arkansas where he resided until his passing.

Alvin is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Jerri King; step children, Duane (Peggy) Roberts, Sheila (Jay) Southard, Kelly (Amy) Roberts; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Services will be held at Roller Citizens Funeral Home, 201 Pine Street, West Memphis AR on Saturday, December 21, 2024. Visitation will begin at 11:00 followed by service at 12:00 in the Chapel. Burial will follow at Crittenden Memorial Cemetery in Marion, Arkansas.
