of Calico Rock, AR
June 21, 1962 - December 16, 2024
Robert ''Bob'' Clark Colley, Jr, 62, of Jordan, AR went to Heaven on Monday, December 16, 2024 in Calico Rock. He was born on June 21, 1962 in Paragould, AR to Robert and Garnell (Gomer) Colley.
Bob was a 1980 graduate of Paragould High School where he played football and baseball. He was also a 1986 graduate of ASU-Beebe where God led him to the love of his life - Lana. They both went on to Arkansas Tech University and became graduates in 1988.
After graduating from high school, Bob enlisted in the US Navy, which he loved but was only able to serve briefly due to a knee injury he sustained. He loved his country and was so proud that he was able to serve.
Bob and Lana (Rand) were married on May 23,1987 in Rodney, AR and began a 37-year journey of loving life together. They began dating in October 1984. Their life together was one of love, joy and serving the Lord.
After graduating from Arkansas Tech University, Bob's career path began working at Marbax Shirt Company as an Industrial Engineer. After gaining experience at Marbax, he had the opportunity to work for Lee Jeans in several of their plants in Missouri for several years. He loved working for Lee Jeans but always had a yearning to return to Arkansas to live on their farm. That opportunity came when White River Industries hired him as their Industrial Engineer. They were able to move home and live on their farm and began raising cattle. Bob had a great love for deer hunting. He spent many hours each year preparing for hunting season and making many trips to Bass Pro for the latest gear and guns. Nothing he liked better than to be sitting in a deer stand and waiting for deer to come by his stand.
Bob was a member of Lone Rock Baptist Church where he served as the church van driver. He also helped his wife teach the youth class for many years. He was able to serve on several mission trips with his church and sang and played guitar in the music ministry at Lone Rock Baptist. Bob also helped his wife serve as a Drop Off Team leader for Operation Christmas Child for 12 years.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Lana of the home; 1 sister, Cindy (Charles) Carroll of Bono, AR; 1 brother, John (Tina) Colley of Paragould, AR; 2 sisters-in-law, Susan (Tony) Seal of Drasco, AR and Anita (Paul) Nordrum of Calico Rock, AR. He also had 6 nieces, 4 nephews, 6 great nephews and 11 great nieces. He has a host of cousins and was blessed with many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, 1 infant sister and 1 niece.
Bob was the best! He was the most kindhearted and caring man and was always willing to help others. He loved Jesus and that was reflected throughout his life in everything he did. He was the greatest husband, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Special thanks to Dr. Beth Knight and the nursing staff at Izard Regional Hospital for the excellent care Bob was given.
Visitation will be held at Lone Rock Baptist Church Thursday, December 19th from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 19th. Burial will be at Hand Cemetery in Jordan, AR. Arrangements are under the care of Roller Funeral Home in Mountain Home.
Donations may be given in his memory to Hall's Chapel Building Fund (Hand Cemetery), where he gave an untold number of hours caring for the cemetery and chapel.
