February 21, 1951 - December 16, 2024

Mrs. Marty Steele, 73, of Mountain Home, Arkansas passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024 in Mountain Home.

Marty was born in Pocahontas, Arkansas on February 21, 1951 to B.B. and Donna Mae (Gregory) Barnes. She graduated from Pocahontas High School in 1969 and in March of 1970, married the love of her life, Roger Steele.

Marty dedicated over 20 years of her career to working at the bank and spent over five years at the doctor's office, always eager to help those around her. She also volunteered as a Pink Lady at Baxter Regional Medical Center for over ten years. Her commitment to service was a testament to her kind and generous spirit.

She also leaves behind four great-grandchildren, Sutton, Libby, Rylee and Walker; her brother, Chuck (Mary) and four sisters, Jonnie, Bobbie (Mac), Katy (Marc) and Bloop; along with a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, B.B. and Donna Mae Barnes.

Dear Dr. Steele and Family,

I was deeply saddened to hear of your mother’s passing. She must have been a truly remarkable woman, as evidenced by her loving family and the legacy of her 54 years of marriage. A committed Christian, she clearly lived a life full of faith, love, and devotion to those she held dear.

While we have not remained in continuous contact, I have always held you and your family in the highest regard. You impacted my life as a teacher and minister, and I wanted to let you know that my thoughts and prayers are with you, your father, and all of your family during this difficult time.

May her memory be a comfort and a blessing to you all as you reflect on the beautiful life she lived.

With deepest sympathy,

Amber Hobbs Shaw
