Hazel Juanita Hopper Evans, wife of Winford Oakland Evans, 91, of Searcy passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2024 in Judsonia at The Blossoms at Oakdale Nursing Home. She was surrounded by her family all day. She was born on September 22, 1933 in Higginson, Arkansas, the third of eleven children to the late Everett and Ettie Hopper.
Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by her husband, Winford Oakland Evans; her parents, Everett Hopper, Ettie Waggle Hopper Collins; brothers, Leo, Kenneth, Donald, Gene and Marshall and her sisters, Mearl Teague, Julie McEuen, Louise Reynolds, Pearl Elliott and Bertie Teague.
Her surviving sons are John O. Evans of Little Rock, Arkansas, Phillip Evans (Shelia) of Velvet Ridge, Arkansas, Anthony H. Evans (Ronda) of Searcy, Arkansas and one Daughter, Phyllis Odom (Gary) of Searcy, Arkansas; grandchildren, Candace Evans of Velvet Ridge, Crystal Gulley of Searcy, Katrina McCanless (Chase) of Searcy, Isaac Evans (Snapper) of Searcy, Oakland Evans (Natalie) of Searcy, Canessa Meeks (Justin) of Marcella, Elizabeth Burkhalter (Tyler) of Pea Ridge, William Evans (Hannah) of Searcy, Morgan Evans (Jacob) of Little Rock and Nick Evans (Amber) of Seattle, Washington, Brooks Evans, Morgan Hill, CA; thirteen great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life will begin with a visitation starting at 1:00PM December 12, 2024 and service to follow at 2:00PM at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home in Searcy. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Searcy.

A beauty from the inside out. Aunt Hazel was always full of smiles and laughter. She radiated joy every time I saw her. Such a gift she had been to the World for 91 years.

Hazel was a very special lady. She was beautiful inside and out. Her face was always smiling. Her strong family will help each other get through this tough time. The comfort we all have is to know that Hazel is being held in the Lord’s hands. We will all meet this sweet lady again. My love goes out to each member of this family.
