Charles "Mike" Michael FieldsI am a Veteran.

of Fairfield Bay, AR

July 28, 1949 - November 30, 2024

Charles Michael ''Mike'' Fields, Sr., a cherished husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home in Fairfield Bay, Arkansas, November 30, 2024 at the age of 75. Born on July 28, 1949, Mike lived a life defined by dedication to his wife, Marilyn Denise Fields.

A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Mike was a true American patriot that served his country with honor and distinction. His service was a testament to his character, which he carried into every aspect of his life, always helping his neighbors, friends and family.

Mike was a devoted husband and his family was his pride and joy. He cherished every moment spent with them filled with laughter, love and his good cooking. His smile was magnetic and laughter always in abundance as he never met a stranger.

A man of faith, Mike was a devout Catholic and his faith guided him through life's challenges, providing a foundation for his compassionate and generous spirit.

Mike found peace and fulfillment in nature. Whether fishing, gardening or cliff jumping, he embraced the beauty of the outdoors. If he was indoors, he was cooking a meal for all to remember. Mike loved life. He was curious and was always learning new crafts. He was excited to be alive and to bring joy to people. And that he did.

He is survived by his loving wife, Denise and family, including his two sons, a stepson, a stepdaughter, eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Mike's legacy of love and faith will continue to inspire those who knew him.

In honoring his life, we remember Charles Michael Fields, Sr. as a man of integrity, warmth and unwavering devotion to his wife and family. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A memorial service will be held to honor his life at 10:00 am on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Fairfield Bay, Arkansas.

Mike was a great father and stepfather to two of my best friends, Richard and Carl. I had the utmost respect for him and nothing but fond memories of him. I honestly tried to build my parenting style based on the way I remembered his. He was fun to be around, he treated me like part of the family, he took us fishing and to Astros games. And he was hilarious. I have hardly a memory of him that doesn’t make me laugh out loud. A damn fine man.
Rest in Peace Sir.

Denise. So sorry you've lost your soulmate. He definitely will not be forgotten. A smile that lit up any room. A love of flounders. I remember him holding up his big flounder outside Huntsman Chemical for all of us to see standing in front of his spray painted pink truck. A wonderful host. When I made the trips to see y'all with my sons and then my nephews, he entertained them as if they were his own. A wonderful cook. I don't think I've tasted anything better than what he cooked. What a fun adventurous life the two of you had. He had an impact on all of us and will be missed by many I'm sure.

My sympathy & condolences for Denise and family are heartfelt. Mike was a true blue friend of mine for many years. He was always a ray of sunshine to all and a perfect gentleman when need to. We had lots of fun from elementary school through high school, until we all parted ways. Then we had class & school reunions. I got to see him when he and Denise married at our school reunion. He always brought his annual for everyone to sign again. I was naturally impressed & pleased to sign it. He will be missed by all of us. Rest in peace my good friend I'll see you again on the other side.

I met Mike several years back when, because of a family member's medical emergency, I had Thanksgiving dinner with him and his family. He really went above and beyond to show us tremendous kindness in a stressful and difficult situation. He was a kind and funny and good man, and I'm so sorry to hear that he's passed on. I think the kindness he showed us was just his nature, and he probably would be surprised to now hear me say what a massive impression it made on me. I will never forget it, or him. Best love!
