John Edward Mengarelli, resident of Turrell, Arkansas, age 68, passed away peacefully in Jonesboro, Arkansas on December 4, 2024. He was born January 12, 1956 to parents, Dino and Mary Mengarelli.
John worked most of his life at his parents' grocery store, Mengarelli Grocery. He was also a caregiver later in life. He was a simple man who loved his family and being able to spend time with them.
John is survived by his brothers, James, Mike and Paul Mengarelli; as well as his sister, Diane Murphy. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Rosary, Visitation and Funeral Mass will all be held on Monday, December 16, 2024 at St. Michael Catholic Church in West Memphis, Arkansas with Father John Marconi conducting services. Rosary will begin at 10:00 AM, Visitation at 10:30 AM and Mass at 11:30 AM. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Memphis, Tennessee at 1:15 PM.
In Lieu of flowers, the family wishes a contribution would be made to either the church or to St. Michael Catholic School.

Sorry for your loss. Enjoyed the conversation I had with John a many of times, I was already missing him from being out of Turrell. He had a lot of Love for his family and friend that he wad taking care of. Now God is taking care of him. RIP John

Our sincere condolences to the Mengarelli Family! Earth has no pain that heaven cannot heal. I remember John as a sweet, kind soul who never met a stranger. That type of love for people is scarce these days & I’m so glad for the opportunity to have witnessed it firsthand through John.
