Doris Lanell King, 84, of Harrisburg, AR, passed away Monday, December 2, 2024, at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro, AR. She was born November 30, 1940, in Tupelo, MS, to Lucian and Lilla Mae (Beard) Witt. Lanell and her husband Charles were the owners of King Trucking and was of the Baptist belief. She loved gardening, her flowers, and watching her hummingbirds.
Lanell was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 38 years, Charles King; a son, Charles Edward ''Eddy'' King, Jr., and three brothers, Jack Tackett, Billy Witt and O'Neal Witt.
Lanell leaves behind her daughter, Penny (Steve) Newberry; four grandchildren, Matt (LeeAnn) King, Brandon (Misty) King, Todd (Mindy) McCommon, Jeremy (Christie) McCommon and Jakeb (Amber) Newberry; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; a brother, Ricky (Judy) Witt; two sisters, Kathryn Cole and Linda Witt; and special friends, Tracy and Marsha Morris.
Graveside services will begin at 1 pm Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Harrisburg Memorial Park in Harrisburg, AR, with Bro. Glen Hurst officiating.
Tracy Morris, Timmy Cole, Scott Cole, Jeremey Blansett, Jay Ryan Woods and Garrett Woods will serve as pallbearers. Lanell's grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home of Jonesboro.
