Walter Johnson, 79, of Marianna, Arkansas passed away into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, November 28, 2024. He was born on Tuesday February 6, 1945 to Cam Johnson and Zula Mann Johnson in Marianna, Arkansas.
Walter is survived by his daughter, Sherry Weatherford (Eddy) of Marianna, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Amber Saltsgaver (Richie) of Marianna, Arkansas and Nathan Spain (Natalie) of Palestine, Arkansas; seven great grandchildren, Skylar, Sydney, Peyton, Mason, Drake, Hailey and Maci Ann; brother, John Johnson (Janie) of Marianna, Arkansas; three sisters, Roberta Paulman of Brickey's, Arkansas, Commie Benham of Marianna, Arkansas and Rose Edmonson (Tommy) of Lufkin, Texas; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Johnson; son, Michael Johnson; his parents, Cam Johnson and Zula Mann Johnson and nine brothers, Jack Johnson, Virgil (Monk) Johnson, Delbert Johnson, Labborn Johnson, R.C. Johnson, Huey Johnson, J.C (Jay) Johnson, Roger Johnson and Kim Johnson.
Funeral service for Walter will be Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. A visitation will be held one hour prior. Interment will be at Marianna Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Nathan Spain, George Saltsgaver, Allen Jones, Joe Askew, Timothy Turley, Caden Johnson and Mark Johnson. Honorary pallbearer will be Tra Honeycutt.

Butch and Walter was friends for along time. They cut many steaks together over the years. You can’t find today men like them who were dependable and loyal to food

Sherry, what a beautiful legacy your daddy left behind. He was always my favorite Johnson brother although I loved them all. Walter was so kind and helpful and he will be missed by everyone who knew him. He will have many stars in his crown…
Walter was a big part of the Food Giant Family for many years. We loved and appreciated him. He will be missed.
Mr. Walter was a kind and generous man, he was a hard worker. Enjoyed many conversations with him through the years. He will be missed by many who knew him. Many prayers for his family at this time of their loss. May they know that he is in his heavenly home & be praised by his Lord. God Bless
