May 14, 1954 - November 24, 2024
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Karen Burnett Schmidt. Karen shed her earthly body and gained her angel wings on Sunday, November 24, 2024, in Little Rock, Arkansas. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and a beautiful sister and aunt to many. Most of all, Karen was a proud ''nana'' and would take every opportunity to share stories of her little angels. While her family and friends will miss her every day, we rejoice in knowing she is Home and rejoins her brothers and sisters who she missed dearly.
Karen was born May 14, 1954, in Lubbock, Texas and was a graduate of DeQueen High School in DeQueen, Arkansas (Class of 1972). After high school, she moved to Little Rock where she built a career with AT&T (formerly known as Southwestern Bell Telephone). She retired as a Communication Consultant in 2005.
Karen is preceded in death by her mother and father, Allene and Garland Burnett, brothers Jimmy and Richard Burnett, and sisters Sharon Stewart and Belva Jones. She is survived by her husband of 45 years Johnny Schmidt, children Kyle (Anne Marie) Schmidt and Sarah Schmidt, her grandbabies Connor and Emilia Schmidt, and two sisters Doris Owings and Pam Burnett.
Services will be at 11:00am Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, Arkansas. Visitation will begin one hour prior at 10:00am. There will be a graveside service at 1:00pm at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Bryant, Arkansas. Pallbearers include Chad Burnett, Steve Keiffer, Jason Merworth, Jed Owens, Jeff Talley, and Isaiah Williamson.

To Johnny and Family, we are so very sorry for your loss. We both met Mrs. Karen when we worked with Johnny at ACH. She always kept us laughing and she loved showing pictures of her Grands when ever she visited the campus. Again, our sincere condolences to the family and may God provide the necessary peace and comfort to your family and friends during this difficult time. Please remember these words of encouragement from the Bible: “Jesus plainly said: I am the resurrection and the life. He that exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life.” —John 11:20-25.
