of Cabot, AR
September 19, 1932 - November 24, 2024
Our beloved Chester E. King passed away peacefully in his home on November 24, 2024, at the age of 92. A testimony to his family and community, a legend in the outdoors and farm, he loved all and touched so many in his life.
He was born in Cooter, Missouri, on Sept 19, 1932. His childhood in Haefer, and later life in Cabot, Arkansas, instilled a lifelong passion for family, farming and the outdoors, and he loved to speak about it with anyone who would listen. Chester and Anne, who passed in 2006, first met and bonded over their mutual appreciation for family and continued to share this throughout their long and happy marriage.
As a member of the Mt. Pleasant Community, he was a patriarch and spiritual leader in the church with the biggest heart for all to see. His love for Christ was a witness for all to follow.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anne; son, Lewis Chester King (Sonny); daughter, Melba V. Roe; parents, Dolphus and Prediuth King; brothers, Edward, Melvin, Wayne, and D.J. King; and sisters, Roxy King, Pearl Raymond, Raymell Nottenkamper, and Edith King.
He leaves behind his surviving sons, Stephen, Phillip, Timmy, and Miki King; a sister, Marie Ivy; brothers, Buddy, Charles, Donold, and Harold King; sisters-in-law, Laura Alexander, Bettye Thompson, Ida, Pat, Peggy, and Shirley; and daughter-in-law, Judy. Other survivors include his grandchildren, Crystal, Sean, Kosha, Kara, Nikki, Srdjan, and Noah; great-grandchildren, Keegan, Kimber, Keiley, Kaydance, and Skylar; a great-great grandchild, Sylvia; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and extended family, friends, and in-laws.
Funeral services will be held at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, on Saturday, November 30, 2024, with a 2-hour visitation from 10:00 12:00 p.m., and service at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. All friends and family are welcome.
