Nancy Ausburn Snelson was born on September 13,1951 in Midland, Texas and moved to Searcy, Arkansas at the age of 10. She met her lifelong love, Charles and the two were married November 27, 1969.

Nancy was a homemaker until her children were both in school. Nancy then studied nursing and earned her LPN license at Foothills Vocational and Technical School in Searcy, Arkansas. She finished her RN degree and graduated from the University of New York in 1984. Nancy served as a Labor and Delivery nurse at Central Arkansas Hospital in Searcy for 20 years.

Nancy and Charles retired together in 2009 and shared many cherished memories with family and friends. They traveled the United States, enjoyed camping and outdoor activities together. Nancy and Charles also enjoyed their dear friends at their home on the Little Red River.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Pauline Ausburn, sisters, Martha Pitchford, Betty Gray and Sandra Clark. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Charles; son, Dana (Jeanne) of McRae; her daughter, Brandi (Ricky) of Romance; eight grandchildren, Brandon (Diana) Snelson, Justin (Libby) Ackerman, Jackson Snelson, Quinten (MacKenzie) Scherer, Ricky White III (January), Laura Snelson, Carson (Haley) White and Kaden White; seven great grandchildren, Taylor and Owen Snelson, Wyatt and Elena Ackerman, Zuri Scherer, Wrenlie and Stetson White, one sister, Lynda (Doug) Honey; along with other extended family members and many friends.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at Kensett Cemetery at 10:00 AM. The service is under the direction of Roller-Daniel Funeral Home, Searcy. The family will host a Celebration of Life on Friday evening, November 15, 2024 from 5:00 PM - 7:30 PM at the West Race Baptist Church in Searcy. The address of the church is 1009 West Race Avenue, Searcy, Arkansas.
