Joye Lynette Blackwell

of North Little Rock, AR

July 11, 1954 - November 1, 2024

Our beloved Joye Lynette Bromley Blackwell suddenly left us on November 1, 2024. Joye was born on July 11, 1954 to her parents, Eva Bellar and Cecil Bromley. Joye was a proud resident of Rose City for her entire life. She graduated from Northeast High School in North Little Rock, AR. She went on to build her family and became a full-time caregiver for her grandson, Seth.

Joye loved God wholeheartedly and was full of prayers for anyone in need. She adored her family and friends endlessly and was the best mom, grandmother, aunt, friend and neighbor around. She truly touched anyone in her presence with her love and sometimes her feistiness. Joye always had a fond story to tell about her childhood or her boys and was quick with a one liner. She also always had a sweet nickname and a hug for you.

She is survived by her sons, Thomas Blackwell (Heather) and Timothy Blackwell and her grandchildren, Seth Blackwell, Sidney Blackwell and Sebastian Blackwell. She was preceded in death by her son, David Blackwell; her parents, Eva Bellar and Cecil Bromley; her twin sister, Joana Adams; her brothers, Jimmy Bromley and Jerry Bromley and her nephew, John Paul Adams.

We can take comfort knowing she has entered eternal rest with her departed family by her side. She was dearly loved on this earth and will be deeply missed by her family, cherished friends and community. Services will be held at Arkansas Memorial Gardens on Friday, November 8th at 3:00 p.m.

Contributions to United Cerebral Palsy or Cerebral Palsy Foundation, a cause close to her heart, are appreciated.

Pallbearers are Timothy Blackwell, Chris Wesley, John Crowder, David Bromley and Brad Bromley.

I have loved Joye and Joann since we all were just kids. The Bromley family lived next door to my grandmother Ethel Reddick the girls called her “mamma Reddick” we would play “school” in the wash house behind her house. We have kept in touch for 65 years. She was such a faithful follower of Christ and we rejoice she is now with the God we serve. Prayers for her family in the days ahead. She and her sweet spirit will be missed.
