Tommie Joe Son, aged 67, of Jonesboro, AR passed away Thursday, October 31, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. Tommie was born August 14, 1957 in Lepanto, AR to Randall Eugene and Mary Haggard Bogard. Tommie proudly served in the U.S. Army and National Guard for 23 years, serving during the Iraqi Freedom era. He worked for Lamb Enterprises and for the City of Jonesboro after military retirement. He was a member of Willis Chapel Pentecostal Church and loved yard sales, tinkering on cars and lawnmowers, collecting tools, fishing and roller skating.
Tommie was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Shorty Son, Mike Son, Kenneth Bogard, Portia Diana Reed, Terry Bogard, Kenneth Randle Bogard, Steve Bogard, Robert Bogard and James Ray Bogard.
Those left behind to cherish the wonderful memories of Tommie include his loving wife of 38 years, Debbie Westbrook Son; one son, Shane Irwin; one daughter, Shanette Irwin; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Larry E. Bogard, Larry W. Bogard, Quincy Bogard, Mark Rainey and Robert Son and sisters, Marilyn Williams, Sue Buzzard, Janet Holt, Ann Son and Beverly Son.
Chapel services with full military honors will be 2 pm Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 West Washington Avenue in Jonesboro, AR with Larry E. Bogard and Becky Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.
Visitation will precede the service from 1 pm until 2 pm.

I knew Tommy back in the 70’s when me and family Roller Skated at Good Times Skating Rink ! I was just a teenager and we all thought a lot about Tommie ! My thoughts and prayers are with you , his family and friends ! God Bless you all !
I am so sad to read this, he was a very old friend and will be missed. Tommie was a very encouraging person who always found a smile.
Me and Tommie have been friends pretty much our whole life. More like brothers. I wish I could have talked to him one more time. Gonna miss him.

Tommie, May you rest in peace. I know that time heals alot of past and I'm glad to see how life turned around for the best. Thank u for all the memories and for serving our country . And for being a neighbor when needed. Tell dad. I pray to see him soon and maybe yall can catch up and go fishing and talk it up with all of our loved ones that have gone on. Tommie was like an older brother to me. We made a lot of memories together . Some we can talk about, some we better not . LOL, he will be missed. Rest in peace brother.
