The family of Jerry Don Childers of Clarksville is saddened to announce his passing on October 30, 2024 at the age of 69 years. He was born February 27, 1955 in Clarksville, Arkansas.
Jerry Don was a successful business owner and held many school records in basketball and track & field. He is known for his kindness, his love for sports and his desire to live life to the fullest, which led him getting his last spanking at the age of 21 years old. He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Geneva (Edwards) Childers; his brother, Charles Larry McDowell and his nephew, Ethan ''Blade'' Pelts.
Jerry will be lovingly remembered by his long-time love, who he shared many memories with over the last 40 years, Tammy Smith; his daughter, Samantha Childers; brother, Tony (Francine) Childers; sister-in-law, Sara McDowell; aunt, Fran Carter; nephews and nieces, Jay (Michelle) McDowell, Bobby Childers, Traci (Stacy) Noblett, Julie (Jeff) Lane, Charles Williams; his extended family, Johnnie and Bertha Smith, Kenny and Robin Talley, Dustin Duff, Cord Pelts and Daniela Salazar; along with numerous friends he considered family; plus many great nephews and nieces; caregiver, Jamie Perry; his friends, Toni Killough Gully, Bertie Golden and Iris D'Andrea and a bonus daughter, Madison Stutzman and many extended family members.

I owe so much to this man. Not only for my name, but at age thirteen because of Big Jerry Don I knew how to drive a semi. We washed all the Childers bros. Trucking rigs on Saturdays. That man was my idol. Because of Jerry Don and Tony, I knew how to operate anything with wheels or tracks. And have the privilege of running with big cat, he taught me how to weld and a few other things in life. Big Cat and Slim will live forever in my memories. R. I. P Jerry Don and Big Cat. Neither of you will ever know how much of an impact you made on my life. Thank you
Prayers for peace! RIP Jerry Don!

Tammy and the rest of Jerry Don's family I am so sorry to hear this!! Always had a smile on his face - I hadn't seen him since high school and I ran into him while in
Clarksville about 10 years ago. We talked for quite a while and the years disappeared. I know he had not been in good health but he is in perfect health now. RIP JD!! Prayers for his family.
